I'm thinking of doing a themed ork list, with lots of kans/mega armor and gucci stuff that a Bad Moon mob would have. Would prefer to have a warboss of some kind and a mekboy, but am open to suggestions...a looong time ago I had a Nazdreg list, and now have a hankering to start a new one.

The idea is good but when going for lots of kanz and dredds you really want to go for atleast 100 boyz. Meganobz dont have invuls so they are not really good. With bad moonz theme i think go for A) Loads of nobz + some (max one squad) meganobz all in wagons, B) Some boyz and ard boyz(!!!) in wagons too C) Eh... thats pretty much all.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm aiming for a fluffy feeling army that is fairly good, but not specificaly uber in any way. I gotz lotsa teef stuff. I haven't played with orks since 2nd ed (unfortunately I sold the army), so am wanting some pointers. I see the point about mega nobz, eavy armour will do it (black orc conversions prob).

How do people feel about shokk attack guns, flash gitz and lootas? Kinda thinkin a Boss plus nobz, a couple of trukk mobs. A shokk mek n Deff dred plus lootas and a few kans. I've left my codex behind so can't look at the costings at the moment.

Lootas are great. Flash gitz are very expensive for just being nobs with big gunz. you dont get a ton of shots with them and they still have the BS of 2.

Shokk attack gunz are too unreliable to be in list for something other than possibly suicidial fun. Lootas are great but only in large numbers and only when you are going for "ork gunline". Flash gitz eat your heavy slot and are too expensive for what they do. There is some huge luck factor too. You need to have +- same speed of your army not someone hanging back so if you are going for loads of trukk ladz dont take lootas, shokk attack gun. Dredds and kanz are possible but are not best bet. If you want to stick with the theme buy 3 battlewagons with squads of 20 and fill the rest with nobz. If you want to be competitive go for some deffkoptaz as they are most reliable ork anti-tank and can lock a unit in turn one.

Suicidal fun sounds good, and it looks like lootas are in and flash gitz are out. A battlewagon is also in, and a pair of trucks. I'm looking for stuff that is going to make for a fun game...for both sides I like deffcoptas, and am looking to get some at the moment. Forgot to pack the codex tonight, so will come up with a trial list for tom.
