About those merry old havoc-reaping death-dealing xenos-killing heavy weapon's teams: where do you put 'em? Where is the best placement so that your big gunz will have line of sight and range to pretty much everything on the table? This is a good question. However, I don't know. I've tried putting them up front in my infantry platoons, but that limits what they can see and where they can shoot. But, when I put them back with my Company Command Squad, they sometimes don't have the range to the enemy's big gunz placed nicely behind his lines. Where should a player place his Heavy Weapons, pray tell?

Seen them work well from the back of a chimera ... first turn they get in and then chimera moves to a good spot. (just remember you can't draw LOS through the turret so make sure it won't be in the the way).

Pivoting doesn't count as moving- i know this belongs in YMDC, but doesn't really deserve its own thread- can you pivot a Chimera and fire the HW out the back?

Somewhere with decent LOS, especially where you believe the enemy is going, but sufficently covered/protected to make it a hassle to go after them.

well without going OTT if the transport moves the occupants count as moving. Pivoting may not count as movement but i think most people will agree the vehicle did move so they count as moving and can't shoot heavy weapons. If you feel this should be played differently (and there is a fairly good argument) take it up with your opponent before the game.

sounds like it does deserve its own YMDC thread cheers for clearing that up a bit though
