Hey guys, I have some Tyranids that I considere Sky Nids. I was wondering if there was anyway to get a really good base effect for them, as I can't think of any. I currently just have cotton wool glued to the bases, which looks really bad. So if anyone has a good idea on what I could do, that'd be great. Well if they are sky nids , i see nothing wrong with cloud base.

with the blue on blue color scheme, it looks more like their on a frozen world, with steam rising off the ground.

"sky nids" doesn't make much sense, because half the nids you have there don't have wings. what are they doing, walking on clouds?

I eventually plan on adding wings. And a way to improve my bases would probably involve adding more cotton wool.

Yes. Yes they are.


Anyways, the colors are good, but they will look better when they have wings (although that might be iffy for WYSIWYG on some things).

My only concern would be... if they are 'sky' Tyranids, how are they in combat with ground troops, let alone hand to hand? If they are on-the-ground 'sky' Tyranids, why would they have clouds on their bases? The coloring of skies for your scheme is a great idea, but basing them as though they were actually up in the sky wouldn't work for me. Makes no sense.

Now, if you modeled all of them airborne as if hovering just above the tabletop, ala flying base stands or some such elevation method? Now that I could buy.
