Very nice model, you did a nice job on the gold and the cloth in front of the legs. The holes in the gun throw it off though, they are a little miss matched.

Yeah, I had problems drilling the holes on this one. I think my drill bit is worn. On the table, it isn't nearly as noticable. Unfortunately, in this picture, it's in your face!
Ah, well.

Awesome work. The parchment, skull and details are all great. I'd love to see more of your BT stuff if you have it on the site.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

Interesting choice for red parchment on the purity seals. Why did you choose that? Contrast?

I also think this is one of the best sculpts GW currently has. You have done a remarkable job on it.
My suggestions (should I be so gauche as to suggest improvements to a paintjob I myself am incapable of executing) would be:
Use the next size up dremel bit in a manual pin vise and enlarge the holes in the bolter, taking care to start offcenter. If the holes are sufficiently large, it's difficult to see that they are off.
The only other suggestion I could make would be to perhaps wash the skull (but not the eyes). It seems overmuch white.
How are you liking the Hirst Arts kit? I'm thinking about getting some.

@ ouze: I like the hirst arts very much. I've made the 4" round tower, and am working on 2 larger terrain pieces now. The drawback is the number of castings it takes to do a medium to large piece of terrain and the weight of the terrain. But the detail is wonderful. I have pictures of a simple piece I made with left-over bits in my Random Black Templar thread, which I posted the same time as this one.
Also @ Ouze: I might take another attempt at the barrels before I finish with a matte coat. It's been raining lately, so I haven't been able to spray it. I'll post again if/when I fix it.
@ Cheese Elemental: If you go to my gallery here, I have a few more of my Black Templars, including a jump pack chaplain, and some others. My photography has been getting better, but some of my earlier works show poor detail with the camera.
@em_en: I've been using red on my Black Templar purity seals mainly for the contrast. If I were painting practically any other color but black as the primary color, then I'd make them look like my parchment scrolls.
Thanks for the feedback, guys and gals!

put him in a squad of termies or have him drop in so he gets right into the thick of things, and doesn't have to worry about being shot at. or stick him in a LR with those termies.....

I did use wash of Badab black on some of the smoother areas. But mostly, the black somes from the dupli-color acrylic enamel auto primer. Any spots I missed with the spray primer, I touched up with Reaper Master Series Black, watered-down.

Really nice model. Good, clean and crisp painting.
One thing though, your model might get hit more if you have it on a higher base, TLOS might mess with you on the table.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

as far as TLOS is concerned, with regards to this one particular figure, it should be something you discuss with your opponent before you start playing in a casual game. Tourie rules you should talk to tourie organizer/judge(s) and then make clear rulings before you start each match.
