I'd like to supplement my army with some Imperial Guardswomen but have no idea how to go about feminizing a mini.

We're all mature here, right? How does one go about granting a miniature feminine characteristics?

Step 1: Go Buy IronMan if you don't already own it.
Step 2: Watch Ironman, pay particular attention to the beginning, "Good God Your a Women!"
Step 3: Realize that proper armor isn't going to accentuate feminine features.

Wood Elf Glade guard sprues have several female heads that will work for Imp Guard. Other Options include Witch Elves (Horrid Hair), Deamonettes (one or two decent looking heads), Reaper Miniatures (which will take cutting up metal minis).

I was going to say just this. Unless the woman in question has a horrendously oversized chest, it's not going to show through the armour. At the very most, you might get some curvature, but that's even a little much.

The most you should worry about is the face.

Oversized chest is for sure unrealistic, but in reality women often do wear special-sized vests.

You can read more here (http://www.galls.com/bacomfort.html). Also you can simply google "female ballistic vests" and look for images to get the idea.

www.galls.com wrote:Contrary to popular belief, female officers may or may not have to order a vest specially fitted for women. If you wear an “A” or “B” cup bra you can probably wear a regular stock vest; if you wear a larger size you will probably need to order a custom vest.

I have been wanting to do something like this for my guard as well but i have never done much green stuff work so its a bit daunting. I also I figure it would be fun for my emperors children army or more so my slaanesh marine army to have them all obvious females similar to doctor thnders ideas

So inevitably i understand your reasoning for posting thi entirely hope you find some way to achieve your goals

Hasslfree Miniatures make separate female heads. You have to make your own hair, which is pretty simple.

The gender of an Cadian model is impossible to determine from the body alone. I could see switching out for more feminine heads, just don't sculpt long flowing hair; girls get shaved heads, too.

Whilst we're talking of Doc Thunder, there are Female Cadian sprues cast in resin.

A chap named Darksoul recast a load too. Search the forum, I'm certain you'll find a few people have some of these kicking around.

Misery. Missouri. Who can tell the difference.

Just use the bare Wood Elf Female heads. If you cut them just right you can put an IG Helmet on them and look good. Leave the armor alone and just carve down the uniform down a bit around the Load Baring Gear. That will give you the smaller, female appearence. Now, IG Cadian hands, I would look at doing hand swaps with Wood Elf hands.

First off, that pigtailed space marine chick - damn, baby's stout. I likes me a thick.. genetically altered superhuman.

Secondly, I've never understood why GWS does not have female guardsmen by default. I understand the ecclesiastic cannot raise men under arms, hence the SOB, but what's the reason for the IG?

Finally, I agree with using the standard bodies and just swapping the heads. I don't think a woman in armor would look any different.

I wouldn't bother trying get catachans to look like women. GW heroic proportion just has too many issues that way. The best you could hope for is either a long haired Cadian or Meltabombs. Better to take an off brand sci fi soldier gal and convert her gear to look cadian. If you absolutely must use GW stuff, I recommend tau firewarriors with woodelf heads - there was a fairly well done bodyguard figure for a command squad in one of the IG threads that used firewarrior legs. Firewarriors have much more realistic proportions, so I think the final result would be much better.

Yep, got me a squad of those. They come without arms. Just legs, torso, and heads. Except for the sergeant, which comes with a sword arm and a laspistol.

They do have female troopers. It's just that with the armor and fatigues, gender is impossible to determine at this scale. Look at photos of real-life solderiers and blot out the faces - you cannot tell the difference.

If GW did make female troopers, they'd have gigantic asses and breasts like those terrible Doc Thunder casts.

yes but that wouldnt be "kid" friendly so that won't happen in fact i am surprised the sisters of battle havent disappeared for some strange reason similar to squats, just due to the fact that models like the repentia arent exactly "kid" friendly and that does seem to be the way that GW wants to market their models

It's not that it wouldn't be "kid" friendly, just that it would be dumb and offensive.
