With all the changes to Kromac, what do you suppose would be a good set of beasts for Kromac?

It's hard to say right now as I'm not even familiar with the animi.

For their Animi:
Feral Warpwolf: Even after last Friday's change it's still useful.
WoldWyrd: As ever.
Woldwatcher: Still handy for avoiding single powerful model charges.
Gorax: For when you need that beast charge to hit hard. Auto frenzy is less 'free' now.

For the beast:
Feral Warpwolf: Reliable Beatstick.
Gnarlhorn Satyr: As above, slighly cheaper.
Gorax: Fury 4 fury battery for 4 points.

The others:
I'm not sure that Woldwardens or Megalith play very well with him due to their inability to be healed by him and I don't own a Shadowhorn Satyr. I don't rate the Pureblood on any level at the moment and the Argus, while good has no particular synergy with him.

Kromac already has Pathfinder. As I said, no synergy with him [Kromac]. The Feral Warpwolf, Gorax and the Gnarlhorn Satyr may find a use for it though. All the Circle Orboros infantry already have Pathfinder.

The list is specifically tuned to having Kromac and the Feral provide the
major hitting power. The Feral warps Ghostly and gets Bounding from
the Gnarlhorn (or casted by Kromac), and goes crazy with Havoc up.

Megalith helps protect kromac and casts inviolable resolve on his behalf, whether in beast
form or shaman form.

Undergrowth has a ridiculous area now that it's within 5" of the model casting it.
That's more than a 10" AOE.

I ran this with some success tonight. I think I'd rather have a full unit of Tharn Bloodtrackers instead of the Reeves but he's a much more interesting caster now.

fyi, I see a problem with taking a Megalith or Woldwarden...Kromac loses his spells in Beast form which means Geomancy would only work half the time in the game, when Kromac is human.

Also,I think a MUST TAKE for Kromac is Feral Warpwolf.
---reason why is that his animus can help Kromac gain additional fury when Kromac casts his FEAT!
---also, Ravenous would work the best with the Feral since Feral has 7MAT which is the highest among circle warbeasts.

Personally, I would really like to experiment with the woldwatcher with him, too. If Kromac uses the Woldwatcher's animus that would be ONE BRUTAL SWING in his beast form.

I also would think of using the Gnarlhorn because of its animus. Kromac seems like an assassin warlock to me and that +2movement with +2MAT on the charge could help him out.

Circle Khador Kid they updated Kromac (and several others) on December 11. Instead of
Ravager he now has a spell called Havoc.

Warbeasts in this modelʼs battlegroup beginning their activations in its control area can run, charge, or make slam or trample
power attacks without being forced that activation. While in this modelʼs control area, warbeasts in its battlegroup gain boosted
melee attack rolls. Havoc lasts for one turn.


Also, the relevant text about his spell list:

While in beast form, this model gains Terror ICON and +3 STR, MAT, ARM,
and FURY but loses the Commander advantage, cannot upkeep spells, and cannot cast non-animi spells.


I don't know if it's an oversight or not, but Geomancy still has access to his spell
list even while beasted out.

I ran this tonight vs. Rhyas. I Didn't use the leap/charge combo as I'm preparing for that to be removed from his rules, in fact I didn't beast out until the last turn and didn't actually need to. The game ended with an Argus bark and charging Gnarlhorn Satyr caster kill.

Being DEF 7 (DEF 8 with the Shredder's Animus) is really bad for your health.

She was in the open and I rolled stupid high (13 IIRC) dice! The plan was to slam her with the Gnarlhorn Satyr then charge her with Kromac but the Argus saved me the bother.

I just checked the fieldtest site. Kromac's pounce changed. It now triggers after an advance (not charge) before action.

They've still not fixed the Bestial/feat combo that gives him a no spells within 18" or the Woldwarden/Megalith FURY 9 casting. Maybe they're going to stay.

For me the spell thing is huge, especially on feat turn.

No spells in 18" is nice. Warbeasts going crazy within 18" is awesome.

Oh, how can Kromac get no spells within 18"? He can't cast spells in his beast form, so he can't get 9 fury. Even with his feat he has to stay at his limit of 6 fury in his human form.
And the Stones can't cast spells with a range of CTRL

Kromac suffers up to 7 damage points. For each damage point he suffers, Kromac gains 1 fury point. Kromacʼs fury point total
cannot exceed his current FURY as a result of Blood Rage. If Kromac is in human form when this feat is used, he can
immediately take beast form; replace his human model with his beast model. Effects on the replaced model are applied to the
beast model.


It would be pretty silly to allow him to cut for 7 to gain 7 fury points if he can't even have
7 fury points.

Wow, that's a crazy combo on feat turn. sweet. so pop feat, go beast, kill alot, then you don't have to worry about enemy taking you down with spells. I think Kromac is my new favorite warlock haha

Dang, the new Kromac TOTALLY changes which warbeasts should be taken with him.
