The Ironclad has a hurricane bolter rig for the right arm. Any ideas on how to make one for the left arm that doesn't look completely out of place? I'm wanting to make a dread that has more pew-pew and less qq.

Okay, so you know that legally you can not field a dread with two sets of hurricane bolters, right? Sez you have to replace the dread CCW and storm bolter for the hurricane bolters and they only have one of them sets. Buuuuuut if you knew that and don't care my thought would be to take a Dread missle launcha arm, sand down the missles, mod some bolters with barrel clips (probably with some plastic tube) and glue them in place. Otherwise you could get all expensive and buy a LR Crusaider, build some plastic card shrouds for them that look more Dread like and go. Hmmmm, you got me thinkin now bout modding my own Ironclad using the missle launcha just for fun.

Or simpler, take the left side hurricane bolter from a land raider redeemer/crusader kit and make it from that. If done right, it looks adequate. Not perfect, but it works. I made an ironclad dread from an AOBR dread using the same basic concept and it turned out all right.

Before I tried to match the storm bolter on the right arm, I'd buy the storm bolters for the Crusader from a bits shop (http://www.thewarstore.com/product43161.html -- $8.99) and mod them both up so that they look the same. Much easier to make them both look identical if you are starting with the same parts. While it may not look EXACTLY like the normal one, together they will look right and give you something more unique.

The missile launcher is a "close but no cigar" situation. It will take a LOT of work to get it looking right. That being said, I may not have an option.

I've already done this. It was cool at the time but the sponsons are so big and stick out so far that it looks pretty comical. The new plastic hurricane bolter for the ironclad looks a lot better than the sponsons.

Oh gawd that looks goofy! I was thinking the new plastic sponsons as the ammo boxes are behind the bolters and would not stick out so far.

It'll still look goofy.

Why the hell has the entire sponson mount been glued on, that's just daft!

Here's how to do it! (please excuse the thick paint)

I didn't even bother with the shield on the side of the hurricane bolters. Just the hurricane bolters themselves look fine. But no way would you ever want to do the whole sponson. That's... ungodly. Here's what I did.
I'm not as pleased with the hurricane bolters as I am the seismic hammer. I think that turned out truly gangbusters. I build this baby before the official model came out, and am really pleased by it.

Couldn't you glue the bolters from the ironclad onto the missile launcher from the normal dred?

you could glue the hurricane bolters from the ironclad onto the missile launcher from standard dreadnought kit, but here's the problem: cost.
1st, you're buying 2 ironclad dreadnought kits=$100 approx. Then you're buying 1 dreadnought kit separately (primarily for missile launcher) an additional $50 approx cost. (this is all given what the OP is intending to make)
So that's $150 and 3 dreads later.
OR you buy 1 land raider redeemer kit, and one AOBR boxed set, trade half the AOBR to a friend collecting orks so you get 2 dreads, 20 space marines, 10 termies, a land raider redeemer, and enough parts to make your ironclad dread with twin linked hurricane bolters. Converters dream, and about the same cost as above.
Much better deal in option 2, and in the end looks just as good.

No need to buy whole kits. There's plenty of bits on eBay or places like TheWarStore.

True enough. But not everybody has a credit card (crazy, I know). That will limit some people wanting to do conversion work. Sometimes it's nice to know what kits you can buy that combined will give them the parts they need to complete their project.
