Howdy everyone. I'm getting back into 40k, and what a better way than to come back with a great army! I acquired two sets worth of AoBR Orks, so I have 40 boys, 10 Nobs, 6 Deffkoptas, and two Warbosses (saying I didn't forget anything). I was curious as to what you all recommend I get next for the army to make it a nice competitive army that can hold its own against Marines, Eldar, and Tau particularly.

I was thinking of buying the Megaforce from GW so I would get 9 warbikes and then converting 5 of those to Nob Bikers and one Warboss biker.

Let me know what you think.

There are FAR better ways to spend that 200$ then the mega force!
KFF Big Mek, 3x Trukks, 2x Battlewagons, 2 boxes of boyz, 3 boxes of burna's... That should run about 210 from the warstore. If you can squeeze a lil more out you can get another box of burnas and boyz, make the burna's a full 15, and convert some kommando's.

Most sites or FLGS's can get you at least a 20% discount over the GW official sales page, don't always use them or depend on them for pricing.
Also, if you're looking for specific stuff, especially AOBR ork models: Ebay. My roomate got ~200$ worth of Valkyries for like 50$ this week. A quick glance gives the megaforce right now for ~$160 BIN.
Honestly, look at the battleforce closely and think about what you're really going to use in there. Then look up the equivalent kits on ebay or something, and do a comparison.

You can get 40 boyz for 40$ tops easily, a box of loots for 20$ tops, a trukk for 25$... the bikers are the part that might be expensive, as far as I can see.
But if you're only going to use a few of them, add it up and see if you can get it cheaper. I'll bet you can.

And as Aztral sort of said, make sure you're buying the army you're going to want to field.

LOL $200 NZD = 2 x battlewagons! GW games are the most expensive in the country!

A battleforce box is great. gives ya 3 bikes a trukk and 20 boys but you can actually make like 26 boyz from it. Also gives ya lots and lots of bits to upgrade those AoBR sets.

Well in your original post you said you were thinking about buying the megaforce which is 200$ U.S. Thus my mathwould still be correct as I used the same currency for my math and a megaforce is 200 on GW's site. Unless megaforces only cost 200 in whatever a countries currency is as a flat rate. In which case I need to take a quick flight to india and order as many as I possibly can! A rupee is what like 1 cent? I'll take a 2$ megaforce!

The only real reason the megaforce attracts my eye is because it has the nine bikes, although I'm sure I could get some cheapies on eBay...

It is indeed a great set of buys, just make sure you want to run mechanized orks first.
If you're interested in running a kan wall footslogging army, for example, that would be a pretty terrible investment

I do love my mechanized list though, anything to get stuck in fasta
