so as you can already guess i am new to 40k. i have a few friends who got me into it recently. and while talking with them and the owner of a gaming store i decided to go with daemons as there evil and i like evil >=D. i have a decent amount of money to buy just about anything that i need, and my store has nearly every daemon unit that is currently out. I have the codex and i've read it a couple times and decided on what i want to buy.

H.Q.

Keeper of secrets(or 2 in big games)

Fiends of slaanesh

Flamers of Tzeentch

daemonettes(alot)

plaguebearers(also alot)

and anything else maybe a couple bloodletters.

Screamers

Heavy Support

Soul grinders or daemon prince i dont know.

Hey mate, welcome to the hobby.

Daemons will be a great army to start out with. Sure it will be hard to get the hang of it because Daemons have a different way of functioning, but the codex is competitive and offers great flexibility.

I see you plan to go Slaanesh heavy. Thats cool, but also risky. Daemonettes are relatively fast, which makes them viable, but they are very weak compared to the other troops choices. You need to be aware of that. Keepers are nice as well, but the weekest of the Greater Daemons imo. When you are stuck on Slaanesh, you may want to consider Heralds on Chariots as they are cheap, fast and deadly.

Fiends are a great unit, theyll serve you just fine. Place them relatively safe from enemy shooting and use their speed to get close.

Both Soul Grinders and Princes are great HS choices. Its a matter of taste. Personally I like the Princes more because they off more reliability. The opponent allways has to kill 4 Eternal Warrior wounds per Prince while a Soul Grinder can die to one lucky Meltagunner...

A decent 1500 points list for starters that has the units you mention and a wide variety of units would be something like this:

250 Lord of Change
65 Herald of Slaanesh, Chariot

180 6 Fiends
105 3 Flamers of Tzeentch

158 9 Pink Horrors, Changeling
105 7 Plaguebearers
84 6 Daemonettes

48 3 Screamers
48 3 Screamers

140 Daemon Prince, MoT, Bolt
155 Daemon Prince, MoS, Pavane, Iron Hide
160 Soul Grinder, Phlegm

1498 points

Fiery the angels fell; deep thunder rolled around their shores; burning with the fires of Orc.

Armies:
Daemons: 5000+ points
CSM/Black Legion: 5000+ points
Deathwatch/Knights: 5000 points

From the few times my friends and i have played(i would proxy some of there units as my own) the daemonettes would just die immediatly if i didnt have them behind something. i'd put them in squads of at least 15 or more and they would do fine as long as i got them into assault fast enough.

I put up a list on another topic so I wont post the list here, but its in the army builds section called 2000 points easy deamons. Take a look and give it a try. I think its a good starting spot to save you some learning curve.

The 6 daemonettes will get you nowhere. I don't like playing units of daemonettes with less than 15. Even a unit of 10 is a little light IMO. Maybe two or three squads of 15 would be good depending on what point level you want to play at.

A couple squads of 6 fiends will also pay dividends to you in a slaanesh themed army.

Seekers are priced well but as they are not a scoring unit and you will have a lot of points tied up in large daemonette squads and fiends you probably won't have the points to squezze them in.

Throw in a couple demon princes or soul grinders to taste and you should have a decent list.
