The models are stunning, just stunning but I love the way they look unpainted, it’s just so cool to be able to see the work that’s gone into it.

yeah, it takes lots of time and precision cuts, my fingers hurt
i may finish one side tracks today, but im not sure about this, and the next step after tracks will be rivets - a piece of nightmare too

darn, it's almost as masochistic as build ark scale models tracks...
Do you use some kind of cutter for tracks or its all modelling knife?

rocket heads are next following by rivets

Hm, which density paper do you use for them?
I'm curious cause I start building terrain using carton and it's I bit to hard to bend or cut small details

0.5-1.0mm cardboard, depends on detail's size

I am not even the one doing it, but I am feeling the pain of the tracks.
How do you even make the rocket tips out of paper?

I second the question about making round rocket tips. What I also would be interested in: how does the paper you use react to paint? Do you seal it of first with some kind of varnish or enamel?
|
~9200 build and painted
1312 build and painted
1200 |

thats not that hard. template consists of 6 details - 4 truncated cones, one cone, one circle. cut out, glue them together, polish gently, glue in place Automatically Appended Next Post: Pyroalchi wrote:I second the question about making round rocket tips. basically - im covering almost all details with liquid cyanoacrylate, it soaks in paper/cardboard and you can polish them without ripping slices of paper from ready detail. and this way it strengthening significantly.
after all of this im priming model with spray primer (not water based solution), in most cases in 2 thin coats, and now you can paint it as usual model
