My plan is to run Eldrad with the min DA unit in the Falcon. I will have 4 scoring units, 7 tanks (2 w/ infantry weapons, 2 w/ antiarmor, and 3 multipurpose), Good antitank with the fire dragons, and good horde defense with the Fire Prisms.

Now, can you give a person who has never put an Eldar army on the table, some advice about the small details that will make this army work. My primary opponents run the following: IG of all varieties, 2 to 4 tanks, 2 to 3 Arty, Conscripts, Valkyries, he has it all. Space Wolves with LR, bikes, melee oriented list. Tau with 3 Fire Warrior sqds, 1 kroot sqd, plus assorted Crisis suits, Broadsides, Pathfinders, and gunships.

I am concerned about how to use the Fire Dragons. Exiting the back and shooting seems suicidal. Also, how long do I keep my troops in their transports? Do I seperate them and run a tank/infantry gun line type of thing? Do I stay inside and dance around the board shooting, and then hop out when he reaches midfield?

We tend to play on terrain heavy boards. Will that present problems?

Also where do I put the Farseer?

I have 3 Vypers, would you plug them in? If so for what? I also have Howling Banshees, Striking Scorpians, 3 War Walkers, another Falcon, and 2 more Wave Serpents at my disposal.

Overall good list for someone that has never fielded Eldar, shows you've been doing your homework. A couple tweaks and pointers.

- Stones on the prisms isn't really needed. Prisms should be used from a long distance so if they are in fact stunned their placement shouldn't be a big enough issue to warrant 10pts per.

- Falcon, slap a BL or EML on this and use it as a scoring long range gunship w/ the min 5 man.

- Put Eldrad in with one of the 10 man DA units and the Farseer in with the 5 man Falcon. This way that DA serpent can follow up the 2 Fire Dragon Serpents casting Fortune on them as they full-out up the field. The Farseer should be casting guide on the Falcon and you may consider changing Fortune to Doom or dropping Spirit Stones/Fortune.

Tactics:
- If you going 2nd then consider keeping everything in reserve unless DoW is rolled.

- Jetbikes, do nothing but turbo boost 13-24" to keep them alive till the end of the game. It will be tempting to take shots, but do not be tempted.

- Prisms spread out and stay long range in LoS of each other. Disperse shot those Space Puppies with a s6 ap3 if you get a good shot at a clump of them.

- Fire Serpents B-Line full out at the toughest thing on the board. Make sure to move in a manner that won't put you in a spot that you are too far away to get out and fire, but too close and will get your serpent assaulted. It takes a lil bit of practice.

- Heavy terrain has it's pros and cons. As a skimmer based army you can move around it all you want, but as a con the enemy is goign to get move cover saves.

Good list.

I'd run 3 walkers instead of Spiders. But Vypers with Scatter laser or EML will do well too.

Fire Dragons are suicidal. That's pretty much it. They are a high priority target for your opponent and anything and everything can kill them. The only real way to keep them alive is to make sure that anything which can pose a threat to them dies the turn they disembark.

Do you really need the second farseer if you are running Eldrad? The reason I say this is because of the usefulness of an Autarch in order to add to your reserve rolls in case you need to go full reserve. Give him a fusion gun and throw him in with a DA squad in order to have a third AT threat beyond the dragons. The Prisms are mostly going to be linking firing, so you'll need a guide for the Falcon and maybe two dooms at most.

I'm unsure about the Spiders, they fill a roll that's already being filled by the Avengers, they don't benefit as much from doom and thus aren't being used to their full advantage if timed with the Avengers. They have the potential to be a good solo-unit, but they suffer by needing a short range and being the only obvious infantry to be targeted. You'll need a high level of finesse to make sure they stay out of LoS of things that can potentially wipe them out.

My advice would be to take a council, as you're lacking a tarpit/countercharge/general melee unit. Yes, council, avenger, dragon, prism is what EVERYONE takes for their Eldar army. The reason why is that it's a tried and true effective way to build an Eldar list.

Good list, lot of it like mine.

Warp spiders aren't that good. And stones on prisms aren't needed, if you really must go holo fields, but I wouldn't worry about these either.

I really don't think he is needed for this list, too many points

Farseer (fortune, guide, stones)

Ehh...

Dire Avengers (10) Wave Serpent BL and SC
Dire Avengers (10) Wave Serpent BL and SC

O.K. I would try exarch w/ dual shuripults and bladestorm

Dire Avengers (5)

Love it.

Guardian Jetbikes (3)

I hope you intend for these to last minute objective grab, I really do, otherwise drop 'em. Hell, I would actually just drop 'em.

Fire Dragons (5) Wave Serpent SC/SC
Fire Dragons (5) Wave Serpent SC/SC

Pretty good, might want to drop the chin SC, unless that just means TL, they're usually dead meat once they drop of cargo, or always moving fast.

Fire Prism (2) stones

Alright, I would suggest walkers, but seeing as you only have 3 of 'em these are fine as is.

Falcon Scat/ShurC/Holo/Stns

Alright, I see it's role and even though I wouldn't touch it with a 10 ft. pole, I see its merit.

Warp Spiders 7 w/ exarch w/ 2 death spinners

Don't think they have that much use in the list, might wan't to drop them for something else.

If you drop the spiders, you can afford some vypers, I use mine with 2 ShuriCannons each, it works O.K., can't wait 'til I get the rest of those serpents...

My fire dragons usually end up suicidal, but I try to use them against isolated gun ships.

I don't see the terrain as being a problem... You run circles around them...

The farseer, hrmm... with this list, it's a tough call, I don't know...

And... I'm off!

I think that's a good list.

I don't think you should change a lot of thing to be howfull!

I think you can take off some DA of a big unit, down on 5 models, change weapons of there wave serpent, giving it shuricanon and star motors (I don't know the english name of this option...), taking your little farseer in this wave serpent and then you throw your wave with fortune, and use guide on your prisme. You move more than 12ps with your wave after sending psychic powers, firing with prisme, and then go back before your prism with the wave. Like that, you have a TL shot of prism, a covert save on your prism a the ehd of your turn, and your wave serpent will have a TL covert save...

Howfull combo... like that!

I'd incorporate a Seer Council mounted in a Serpent.
At 2000 pts, you need some dedicated unit.

True that. Warp spiders really aren't all they used to be in forth. They get shot at often, usually cause they're the only one the enemy sees, and now that glancing doesn't wreck it really messed up they're AT capabilities. Seer council on the other hand are all the rage nowadays so take them instead. Prisms don't really need stones and BL's are crap. I'd drop them and get either EML's or scatter lasers.
It might be worth dropping the DAVU and falcon squad in exchange for more jetbikes and jetseers.
