So I finally got my hands on Dead Space and I'm really enjoying it so far.

Can someone tell me if the DLC is worth it? Or which one is the best. I'm a sucker for extra items and it looks quite cool.

There's DLC!! No way!

*Googles*

Holy crap. If you think it's worth the money, then by all means, buy it.

The DLC is for different skins and suits for Isaac. The only one really worth it is either the Obsidian or Cobra suits, as they give additional armour and extra storage space. The others are all simply cosmetic. NOt really worth it for the prices EA ask for.

The Elite suit looks cool and turns you into a fething powerhouse.

Buy it.

I played that game. great game play. great story. couldnt make it though the game. to scared. i could only do like 30 minutes before i had to stop. aparently from the dead space 2 article in game informer i wasnt the only one. i then traded it in for viva pinata if i remember correctly.

I bought a couple of the DLC packs, Obsidian & one called "Tank" or something - it has armour covered in some badass Unitology runes or something like that...

The only difference in playing though with the DLC as far as I could tell was basically that you get a few weapons that you can buy for zero credits from the first vending machine, and without needing to pick up the blueprints. This did nothing except save me credits to use in purchasing the nodes for upgrades [it's been a while since I played so I don't remember exactly what they called them, but hopefully you know what I'm talking about?]

as far as the extra armour & inventory space, that's definitely not worth dropping $10 on as my experience with the game was that these things were very unnecessary [and Dead Space is one of only 4 games I've got the plat. trophy for...]

As mentioned, it's mostly for cosmetic effect, but if you're into that kind of thing you can't go wrong...

Hmm...thing is, I'm not sure I want to buy them as long as I don't know they'll look cooler than Isaac's regular suit. Also, I'm not a big fan of paying real money for gaming advantages. Maybe I'll play through it once and get the DLC for a 2nd run, if I ever find the time for that.

@garret: I know what you mean.

On a completly unrelated topic: is the DLC for Prince of Persia any good?

Anung, just so you know, the only suit that you can't get is the Obsidian Suit, which is PS3-exclusive. As for appearances...

Elite Suit (Xbox 360 Exclusive)

Astro Suit

Scorpion Suit

Tank Suit

If you think the majority of the game is scary, just wait until you see the ending.

Thank you Cheese.

I'm not really impressed by any of them. I'll stick with the normal suit for now.

i might get the second one. i hear the pacing is better. You wont be totally scared and have points in the game where you feel awesome unlike the first one.

You want a horror game where you aren't totally scared? I'd ask for my money back.

Know its not like it isnt going to be a horror game. It will still be less consistent. You wont always be scared. Sometimes you will see it coming. sometimes you wont.

I cant put what im thinking in words. but you should read the article it explains it. You wont be scared 100% of the time. You will have times of breathers when you know nothing will happen.
