The guys at DP9 (who i do some work for, so call me a paid shill if you want...) have released some new and long-awaited goodies for December!

(These are all 1/144 scale, roughly 12mm.)

First up is the Hetairoi hovertank:

This is a design that was created by the Humanist Alliance sub-faction based of captured Earth designs. it's not as 'clean' as the Earth designs as the Humanist Alliance just doesn't have the decades of experience with this kind of thing. (They mostly build gigantic walkers.)

Here it is with a normal Gear and one of the aforementioned Giant Walkers for scale:

It can be loaded with multiple configs, as the HUmanists are pretty good at energy weapons as well:

Next up is the Naga Custom:

(Note that the product image will be changing once we get one of these painted up.)

The new Naga kit replaces the older Naga and can be built in a number of special configurations. The old Naga was a fun kit, mainly because it's a nifty design, but not very dramatic as the legs were fixed in a forward position barring major conversion. The new kit looks to be more dynamic, as wella s including parts for a lot of variants:

Please note that this image is a work in progress, but I like that the legs are a bit more interesting. The mini is a lot more like some of the concept art that was done for this walker. The new kit also includes parts for the regular variant (Anti-tank missiles), the Long Fang variant (Artillery guns), Command (the antenna fin and dish seen above), and the 'Dark' variant, a stealthed version used by the Black Talons.

There's also a couple new squad boxes, with more on the way. The Primary Insertion Team is a bunch of advanced Black Talon Gears.

The CEF or Earth forces get a squad box, too, for their Frames:

The Naga and Hetairoi are somewhat overdue designs as the last month or two got taken up by a lot of 'housekeeping' as the older kits were refreshed with updated and improved molds.

January should see some additional squad boxes and there's a few rumors of some neat stuff coming...

Everything can be ordered from retailers or from Dream Pod 9.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

Nice figures still can't decide on the South or on PRDF.

Eastern Frontier Exploratores
224th Astra Legion (main army)
628th Praetorian Guard Cohort (wife's army)
827th Auxilia Cohort (ad mech fun)
825th Foderati Cohort (in the beginning army)
1212th Foederati Cohort - Jokaero (cause I like apes with guns)

I'm working on retooling my Northern force to take advantage of some goodies from the Return to Cat's Eye book (I'm slow, and one model option needs some converting...) but I also want to get my Black Talon forces actually built. I'm kind of interested in building a Primary Insertion team as shown above as the 'Owl' is not one of my favorite designs (3rd mecha from the left) due to the head and I'm curious how I can make it look better without changing too much. The other Claw Series designs are very cool (Particularly the vultures, below) but I just can't get into the Owl, personally.

The new Naga looks pretty impressive, too.

Most of the minis are about the size of a WH40k mini, but due to the scale details will be off. They could almost work as 'robots' or drones in 28mm.

Actually, they're 1/144 and have been for about 11 years...

Overall, I like the look of the South figures but the PR Cataphract is just too cool. So being pulled to do PRDF.

Which is rather close to... 15mm.

If by close, you don't mind 8 foot giants walking around.

15mm~1/100 or 1/107, while 1/144 is ~10-12mm. That's close to a 50% difference. A 15mm infantry model would stand about 5mm taller than HG infantry on table. That would make them even bigger than the GRELs and larger than the torso/cockpit of most Gears

If you're going to approximate, N-scale railroad is closest. In Europe, that's 1/150 and in NA, it's 1/160. Both will be close enough to look right next to the models.

Its a 3mm difference, which is close.
