Is i possible? I have a few rhinos that I don't use and want to turn them into preds. I worry the new style APC chasis is different in size and shape, so much so that the side sponsons would not work on older styled chasis. I'd like to magnatize the sponsns and cannons to adapt them for rhino/razrback wrk or use them as outright preds. Would I be better off buying the new ase rhino APC from warstore.com then picking up sponsons and turrets or would the sponsons be easily adaptable and be able to take off/put on? I appreciate your help in advance guys! If I was unclear with what I mean I will clarify upon asking.

P.S. hope this is the right part of the forum for this sort of thing!

You can but the weapons will be way to big for it... If your using sponson and the turret of the new predators.... the old Predator turret for the old chasis is a Round dome...( kinda like a T62 soviet tank).

But if you played me and my group of freinds we would not care.. it a converstion... so got for it

Yeah, it could be done (and such a hybrid could look cool)but would require some serious conversion work to make all the bits fit. Unless you're desperate to save money and have a cheap source of the Predator turret/sponson sprues, you're probably better off simply buying the new Predators.

Youd basically have to chop the rhino into 4 pieces or so, and stretch it in all directions using plastic card. I use old school rhinos for my trukks. I cut them in half, chopped the top and front armor off. Made it wider, and moved the front section of the armor forward a bit. I think I still have a wip of one of them in my gallery.

Here it is. I just widened them, and they would still look goofy with modern sponsons on them.

I just recently finished magnetizing and assembling a new Predator and I have an old-style Rhino and Whirlwind, so I have a sense of the scale/compatibility. I've got to say, you'd have to hold a gun to my head to make me try that conversion. If you want to completely mangle the Rhino until you can jam on the parts which will look mismatched and out of scale, it's certainly possible. I just wouldn't recommend doing it. If you want the tank/transport flexibility, save yourself the trouble - pick up the new Predator kit and magnetize it. Plenty of tutorials online (I did it my own way using 1/8" magnets exclusively that worked quite well, although I didn't magnetize the sponsons, just the weapons) to point you in the right direction.
