Looking through Lord Zhulfor's entry-
He gets a few special rules, one of them is fearless. Another is bodyguard of Icon of Khorne Terminators.

According to the big rule book, bodyguard is just another word for retinue. If he takes the retinue, he is just an "upgrade character" for the unit.

Fearless USR states that you lose the rule if you join a unit without.

What I am getting at is this- Does Lord Zhulfor's newly formed unit of terminators get fearless through him or does he lose it as per normal.

Not sure where your see an entry for Lord Zhulfor, but yes if the joining models he is joining do not have fearless then it is lost.

Imperial Armor 7 has Zhulfor's stats / info.

He loses his personal fearless. Sadly marks don't make you fearless anymore.

Yes, he loses his fearless status, however does gain a bodyguard of terminators so he cant be picked out....
