Self Repair for a Lord
As long as the Lord is not killed by a close combat weapon that does not allow an armor save they are eligible for self repair.
Necron Lord vs. 10 Death Company
DG on init 5 go off first. All simultanueous.
Lord takes 3 Rending Wounds... saving 1 w/ invuln save provide by artefact.
5 regular wounds, saving 3.
Total wounds 4 which kills my Lord.
Do I get to make a Self Repair roll? I took enough wounds to die. Part of the wounds were from count as power weapon but was I killed by the power weapon shot (no armor save allowed therefor no self repair) or was I killed by the regular shot (yea...self repair)?

If you took an rending wound you would not be able to use Self Repair. Also this wound would be instant death, so all other wounds wouldn't really matter.

What?
Death Guard are not I5 nor have Rending (both would be pretty funny/cool/imba on plague marines.
As to the question, I do not have the Necron Codex nor the FAQ's on hand to wade through the mess that is the Necron Codex IMO.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Nope rending does not cause instant death. Not sure about the WBB ruling though.

It does not. It merely ignores armor saves. If it wasn't a rending wound that killed him, then yes, he gets his WBB roll.

The issue at large is all the wound occur simultaneously. I mean, the guy I played against rolled all wounds together. 3 6s showed. I rolled my saves together and get 2 rending wounds and 1 regular wound. The question is in what order (if any) would they be applied.
The opponent was gracious and let the lord take the WBB roll (because he was about to roll up the rest of my army anyhow). But I could see this arguement going either way or be totally ambiguous.

See that is exactly why I am not able to provide an answer: There is no order that same -initiative wounds are applied - they all happen at once.
Because of this, it could be said that all the wounds that happen at that "I" step kill him, thus fulfilling the requirement for the prohibition on WBB.
Them all happen simultaneously makes sense for me to deny the lord WBB, but I can't find a clear raw answer.

Necron Codex pg 13 Under Necron Lords "If several attacks hit simultaneously, assume that hits that do not allow for self repair strike ahead of those that do." Seems to mee first you resolve rending attacks (which you did) and then you resolve the other attacks, and those are what finished off the lord, so yeah he can WBB.

Sorry about that one, massive fail on my half. Every time I think of rending I think of the fluff behind Harliquins lol.
