I've got two gaming stores in Philadelphia, Showcase Comics. We sell a ton of the Sabol Army Transports. Great for tanks, not quite as great for infantry, as it's hard to make the pick n pluck efficient and it tends to get torn out easily when most of it is removed except for small strips between figures. When Outrider hobbies offered its free sample, I sent and email and he sent me several of the different types to look at. Placed a large order for the stores and it just came in.

Quicky Review:
- Price is higher to the consumer than Sabol, at 12.00 a tray vs. 8.50. However, depending on the models, I think the average gamer will get 40% to 80% more infantry models per tray. This erases the difference in price.

-You'll also need less trays to hold infantry, meaning you'll get more figures in the bag.

- Quality of construction is better, as a lot of the Sabol trays I get in have the bottom glued on a bit off center of the foam. Not a big deal, but very noticable when comparing the two trays.

- Foam dividers is pretty thin, which makes them much more efficient, spacewise, than having to leave a row of plick and pluck. But while I was initially worried that they would hold up, a quick 'beat the hell out of the poor widdle foam tray' test has me reassured. I pulled and prodded, and they seem to hold together well. Far beyond the point where all the pick and pluck would have torn loose.

- A nice touch for the retailer, is they come with a sticker on the back, pre-priced and with the stock number. Means I can just pull them out of the box and toss them on the shelf.

- For a retailer carrying them, profit margin is acceptable, and ordering was easy.

Overall, a nice product line to add to my stores. We've probably sold over 500 sabol bags over the past few years, so there's a large base of players using them, and these trays give them more options than just the pick and pluck.

Are they made to fit the Sabol case or is there a variety to fit other cases as well, say the GW cases?

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

Far as I know, he is concentrating on the one size for now, but I know I'd certainly love to see some new trays for GW cases.

Does he have 2" foam and how many single models does it hold? Curious as I've found that the best fit for hormies and such is a 2" deep foam with them standing up. The claws barely hook over the top and they fit in a standard slot.

He does 2" foam. I pulled some hormaguants out of the display case and tried them out in th 3x10 and 4x10's. Most of the hormagaunts fit fine in the 40 slot try, a couple though were modeled leaning far foward and claws forward, and were a little tight. Everything fit easily in the 30 slot tray, as it's 1/3 longer per slot. With the way I have mine modeled, I'd probably go with the 40 slot tray (4 rows, 10 per row), and just be carefule with the couple i have modelled leaning forward.

Easiest thing to do would be to order direct from Outrider Hobbies. His website is http://outriderhobbies.com/
There's pictures of the various foam trays. No sense shipping them from Arizona to PA and back to California. Light stuff though, so sending it by parcel post should be fairly cheap. The retail cost is 12.00 each. A bit more than the sabol pick n pluck, but a lot more efficient.
