Meh, I prefer more modern metal, havn't really listened too much 80's metal. Of course, modern metal doesnt include that silly emo gak we get these days.

The Crue and GNR and Def Leppard were the only 80's bands I cared for. Sure GNR isn't technically "hair metal" but it's a similiar sound and style (and leather and drugs and alcohol addiction).
Some was just awful like Firehouse or Dokken.
