I got an idea to try and make a combined army that would integrate the best of both tactics into one kick ass list.

Looks good.

My only query is build of the WL and the Defenders.

Defenders may be too vunerable to shooting, so you might want to swap them for Rangers.

Sword isnt a good choice for WL IMO.
Consider dropping Runes of Witnessing and a Wraithguard and taking 2 SLaser+SCannon WLs (alternativly, 1 SLaser+SCannon and 1 EML+Sword)

I agree with Black Antelope. As for the sword, 1 is ok if you want it to smash enemies apart for sure in combat, but two isn't worth it.

IMO, you need some long range ant-tank fire support. The fire dragons are good, but short ranged. Possibly a bright lance could help.

I never use lances but I'll see what I can do

I disagree and find swordlords way more useful. When you start slapping guns on them they get incredibly too expensive for how easily they squish to Long Fangs (or equiv) and Lascannons. The guardians should be ok as long as your using good placement, just keep them in the fearless bubble and you'll be fine.

If you have the models play test it a few time to so how it fairs then adjust fire from there.
