Can you aim a cannon at the backranks that are unengaged or does the entire enemy unit
count as being in combat? On page 26 it says that "Units are not normally allowed to shoot
against enemy units that are engaged in close combat..."
Does this mean that enemy models in a unit can or cannot be targeted while in hand-to-hand
combat? Are the rules for warmachines different from the rules of LOS and targeting?

War machines are subject to the normal shooting rules. No firing cannons at units engaged in combat. Note that it's UNITS that are engaged, not MODELS.

But if your aming at another unit and it overshoots and hits the engaged units i think that is allowed, bear in mind your own models will take damage if hit.

So then, could this be abused? I.E. "accidentally" overguessing and hitting a Bloodthirster stuck in combat.
