Does anybody have any of these I'm especially interested in the Claymore and Gladius?

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Might want to go into a bit more detail if you want an answer.)

I'm assuming your talking about some models from Old Crow models?

Claymore and Gladius? Swords, spaceship, some sort of meatloaf?

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

their two tanks I believe form the old crow range. Hes asking how they scale up compared ot the GW minis.

The Gladius and claymore are around 115mm in length, being 25mm scale they will be much much smaller against equivalents like the chimera and even landspeeders. Against heroic scale figs they would look out of place.

I've got a claymore shot next to a GW rhino and a trojan.

The Claymore is the 8 wheeler and is a beast of a model.
The Trojan is smaller -more chimera sized, but much narrower.

That do you?

Next to some infantry. These are GW Cadians with WF pith helmeted heads.

The Gladius is somewhere between the two of them, I believe (based on the turret which is also suitable for the Claymore,)

Blimey!

That Claymore looks a tad too big against those guard. I thought they would be totally out of scale compared to 28mm minis.
Hey I know nothing.

Thanks Cromedog.

The claymore would be much more suitable (for 40k) if it was only a 6 wheeler and around 40mm shorter (like removing the 2nd pair of wheels and the section it comprises).

It can be done (with a bandsaw for example), but you would then have to make up a turret mount on the rear deck (30mm hole to fit the turret mount).

The turrets, though are fine for 40k vehicles. Made a nice Hydra flak turret and a Manticore from Old Crow stuff.

I own the Old Crow Aircraft and they are alittle bit smaller than GW but not by much. The quality of their casting is excellent but I found that you are looking for an uber detailed model then Old Crow is not for you. But if you know how to add the correct amount of detail and icons on a model then Old Crow is worth the money. When I get home I will see if I kept my review pics I have of an Old Crow flyer.

Alos, I found that old crow models are very easy to put together and there was very little clean up needed. However, the only thing I do not like about Old Crow Minitures was their shipping. It took almost 2 1/2 months for them to get one model out to me. The only thing I can think of is that they do not fully stock all the models offered and only mold up the ones needed as orders come in.

Excellent models but slow shipping.

I had placed a Tau Firewarrior with Pluse Rifle next to the Old Crow Fighter. Here you go:

This is a size comparison of an GW tank with a Old Crow turret placed on top with the fighter in the fore ground.

do a search for "Old Crow" at The Miniatures Page in the message boards section, you'll find lots of comparison shots and paint schemes.

I have 4 of their tanks that I really need to paint up to go with my Copplestone/EM-4 near future sci-fi guys.

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

The Claymore will see time as a prop in my cyberpunk rpg sessions and/or infinity games mostly. My guard army use the smaller Tojans as their chimeras (but I still use old rhinos for my SM, so the size difference isn't as pronounced).

I ordered the Claymore, Trojan and a gecko with an extra turret and some 50mm gun barrels back at the end of october. I had all but the gecko 14th November - it was waiting on parts - the metal parts are subcontracted out to another maker. Gecko is on its way now, but xmas mail is questionable at the best of times.

Cheers thanks a lot you've been really helpful I can know understand why the Claymores that much! Unlike a lot of GW Forgeworld stuff where I can't........

For the quality of the castings, and the relatively clean hulls allowing me to embellish them as much or as little as I want, they are a bargain. Especially considering that a chimera is $55 retail (the Trojan was under $20).

Jez will be getting some more of my hard earned early in the new year.

Trojans for chimeras? The price seals the deal there.

On the subject of timescale it may be worth dropping an e-mail to Old Crow before ordering to confirm availability and lead times?

Just a thought.
