As I stated in another thread, I'm going to be getting MW2 for Christmas. I was wondering if getting a headset for the 360 would be a good investment? I know about the horror stories that come w/ XBox Live. "Noob!" "PWNED!" "You're Mom's a !" 10 year olds swearing worse than a badly written porn. Etc, etc.
Any advice? Thx.

Get it if you have like minded friends. Or if you make friends well.
I find I only talk to the people I socialise with outside of the game, who I can banter with online and offline.

Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.
No soldier's paid to kick against His powers.
We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags. |

In my 5 days playing modern Warfare 2 I have only once wished I had a headset. To chat to some dude who was funny. The rest of the time never missed it. If you play with RL friends you'll want it. When I was playing halo 3 ages ago I was using my friends stuff and had a headset. I had this bizarre but fun conversation with some American south person. Apparently he chewed tobacco, I cant believe people still chew tobacco. So sometimes the headset is ok. If some one trolls you just mute them. Or if they are annoying or have a headset with constant static.. At least in MW2 there is no teabagging or outright humping ala Gears of War 2.

I dont talk to people I know In RL on Xbox live, In gamechat, I usually start chatting with some guy, you add each other, get him to introduce you to his friends, you become friends with them, and so on.

Well, Christmas came and went and I got MW2 and a headset. So now I can hear kids fighting w/ their siblings and/or parents about how long they have been playing, getting cursed at for cheating because I got the shot and not the other way around, listen to the gangster wanna-be's and, my personal favorite, "Dude, I killed you while I was smoking weed. You suck."
Ah, gotta love X-Box Live.
Anywho... Glad I got it. Had some intresting times since I have been playing the multiplayer.

Could be worse. You could've gotten it for PC and subsequently have to deal with Aimbot spam *sigh*
