Hey everyone,
I just had a question about scouts. Is there a captain for a tenth company of scouts? I know, in the case of the Raven Guard, that scouts are assigned to whatever squad suits their field of training...but is there a chain of command in the scout company? Or are they assigned to support another company by that company's captain?

Thanks

yes they do. Ultramarine has a scout captain. forget this old man's name thought, Teil** something. and maybe he is most experienced solider in Ultramarine. i think that means stealth operation is the best way to save life.
but i do not know how the chain of command in scout company works. maybe varity between different chapters. and i do not know how many people in a codex chapter assuming around 100. i think there must split up and assign to different company.

please forgive my spelling, i am still learning English.

Telion is a Sargent, not a captain...though he is old enough to be a captain probably. The scout captains are probably Space Marines who advance from scout-sarge.

The "Scout-Sarge" as you call them is a full battle brother. Telion has been offered far higher positions than the one he is in, but he remains as he feels he does the most good where he is.

But yes, the scout companies have got Captains, the current Captain of the Ultramarines 10th company is Captain Antilochus /w the title Master of the recruits.

May the mass*acceleration be with you

ooops, sorry, my mistake. damn the dude serviced over centuries and remain as a sargent? i think he figured out the best way to stay alive in SM army--wearing camo cloak, camping with a bunch of new recruits with cracky shooting skill and lame sinper rifle in terrians far from main battle field. no one even bother to shoot you for the whole time. i think that is what he survives so long.

please forgive my spelling, i am still learning English.

Captain Taelos, 10th company - Imperial Fists

Chapter Master Pugh appointed him Captain of 10th as he got messed up in battle (Captain of 2nd at the time). He originally (once fit) wanted to go in a warrior pilgrimage but Pugh said "oh no you don't".

Of course, as an American, that means I must say that soccer sucks, and football (real football... you know, the one where you do everything with your hands) is 10,000 times as good. I mean, football players could probably beat up soccer players, even, because they actually know sports.

Thanks for the info, guys

So, when a marine makes Scout-Sergeant or Captain of scouts, is he given power armour and the black carapace? or does he just keep scout armour? or a combination? I think a full power armour suit would be a bit bulky for a scout.

The top ranks of the scout company are full space marines. They are expected to have proved themselves in the fiercest of battles for a long time...that way they can be trusted to train the future warriors of their chapter.

The scouts are, after all, the future of the chapter...their training cannot be trusted to those who only know one facet of war.

So, nobody has said Chuck Norris yet? I'm ashamed of you, Dakka. Of course Chuck Norris leads the scouts, because he has no need to hide in cowardly power armor, when he can hide deep in the recesses of a shrubbery, or a ruined building, or a massive pile of skulls. Ha!!!

Well, a Captain leads the 10th Company in each SM chapter.

-teilon is not a captain, he's a council member and sergeant.-

Scouts have their own company captain, is the case of ultramarines, it is captain antilochus. he is called the captain of the scouts and master of passage.
