Hey Everyone!

My buddy (Highly mechanized IG) and I (Orky to da core) are entering a 1000pt team tournament in a couple months at our LGS, and I wanted to get some input on a list I have been playtesting for it. As I said, my partner will be playing IG, so he is going to pack the punch for tanks and the like.

Feel free to poke as many holes in the list as you can and I appreciate the input!

Here's the list:

HQ:
Warboss (BP, PK, Attack Squig, 'Eavy Armor)

Elites:
Nobz x 9 (2x PK, Painboy)
*Trukk (RPJ, Boarding Plank)

Troops:
Slugga Boyz x 12 (Nob, BP, PK)
*Trukk (RPJ, Boarding Plank)

Slugga Boyz x 12 (Nob, BP, PK)
*Trukk (RPJ, Boarding Plank)

Slugga Boyz x 11 (Nob, BP, PK)
*Trukk (RPJ, Boarding Plank)

Heavy:
Looted Tank (Boom Gun, 'Ard Case)


There it is. My playstyle is very much "In your face ASAP". So if you have any suggestions about things to change, that is they way I like to bring my boyz.

I would suggest droping the Looted Wagon for a KFF Mek and Waaagh! Banner and 2 Big Choppas on the Nobz.

Ya, looted wagons are pretty much pointless, and since your frined is packing some firepower, leave it to him, that's what he does best.

Boss should have Cybork body, and you really, really need the KFF. Use whats left on pimping out the nobz.

First off, your list is good, I would hate to face that at 1000pts. If you want to be super competetive though, you need to individualize your nobz wargear, drop the looted wagon, and get a mek with a KFF. To do this, I would reduce the nob squad in size, and individualize the survivors. Also, if the Boss is going with them, you may not need 2 p.k's. I find a good size for individualized nob squads is about 6 or 7. Finally, a painboy is mandatory for individual Nobs. Bear is mind that a bosspole re-roll causes a wound that does not ignore armour saves, and that you may take 4+ armour and 4+ FNP for. Finally, remember that a Waaagh! banner makes the warboss WS 6. You need to think about the need to be reactive. Your teaming with a shooty army which can be great. But I myself made the mistake of taking an in your face army while paired with guard. It did not end very well. It can end up the same as making a 2000 point army that tries to do too many things at once, and they generally end up only doing one thing: lose. Compliment your partners strength. If that means hiding your boyz and then jumping down the other teams throat after your partner has gotten a chance to soften them then so be it. If it means that you switch your list around to be shooty then so be it.

Hey Again Everyone-

Hope we all had a great Christmas! First off, thanks a ton for all the input. I playtested the ole list a ton over the weekend against, IG, CSM, Vanilla SM, Nids, and Tau. It did well, but I must say you are all definitely right, the Looted Tank is cardboard and it loves to draw fire. I am definitely going to switch it out with a Mek with a KFF.

Apart from bringing out da Mek and tossing some wargear variability in my Nobz, would you guys throw anything else in there?

I also think I am going to have my boss with boyz just because as they stand the Nobz already pack quite a punch, and with the boarding planks, I might want the S10 hit coming from a trukk with a S9 hit coming from the Nobz.

Yeah i know this doesnt suit every body so if its not your style just ignore it but when ever i team up one of us always becomes a support unit, any ways a mek w kff would be able to protect your freinds tanks while some disruptive nits that dont actually engage can be amazeingly fun. i know a freind of mine is in the same boat as you buts team mate is marines and he will always load two trukks or battle wagons up with burnas boyz and just keepdoing drive by burns not allowing the enemy to advance with out stepping in to a trail of fire and placeing templates in between squads so when they regroup they have to run in to the fire. so funny to watch.

I wanted to do a BW with some burnaz in it, I just cannot figure out how to properly throw one in with the 1000 pt list.

But yeah, BW with Burnaboyz is definitely in my larger list. It's just fun!

Well i know you can get a battle wagon w reinforced ram, armour plates and 4 bigshootas for 125 then 15 burna boyz(1 should be a mek) for 180 totaling 305 still leaveing room for good units but yeah its a tight squeeze
