Subject: Poisoned Weapons re-roll vs. fake toughness?

I was playing a friend last night and he was sure within reason my Plaguebearer's poisoned weapons could reroll Wounds versus his T4(5) bikes, though I argued that they were T5 for everything but insta-death so they shouldn't be able to. I told him I'd ask online to be sure, so is there something I'm missing to clarify that? Thanks in advance.

Uh... what orifice did he pull that rule outta? Plague swords are just poisoned weapons that wound on a 4+ there is nothing about rerolling at all.

If you would already wound on equal to or better than a poisoned weapon would make you wound on, you get to re-roll failures.

BlueDagger:
See p.42 of the Rule Book. Under "Poisoned Weapons".
Cannerus_The_Unbearable:
Under the Bike rules on p.53 the Additional Protection rule specifies only one exception: that the Toughness bonus does not apply to Instant Death.
In terms of initial conclusions, I'd go with the notion that Plague Swords at S4 do not get a re-roll against T4(5).

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something horribly obvious in another section or some precedent set by a document that I wouldn't know. I figured as much, since it seems fairly cut and dry. Thanks, and anyone else with a word feel free to pipe in.

Er lol yeah don't post on YMDC with sleep deprivation. Completely forgot about the poison rule it's self giving a reroll lol. Yes there would be no re-roll as the poison rule doesn't state that you use any unmodified Toughness or Strength. S4 vs T4(5) would not be a reroll.
