I was thinking of fielding an army primarily consisting of bikes. I was thinking of something like this for the core:
Bike Captain
-Relic Blade
-Bike
4 Bikes
-2 Meltaguns
-P-fist Sarge
3X5 Bikes
-2 Meltaguns
-P-fist Sarge
3X3 Attack Bikes -w- Heavy Bolters
I figure that 8 quick meltaguns gives good anti-tank support while the linked bolters can assist the 9 heavy bolters of the attack bikes for horde control. The only thing that is missing is long range support and cc, support. I was thinking possibly some dakka preds in HS and some podding asscan dreads in elites. what is the general opinion on how to support this core? Am I heading in the right direction or is there something else that might work better?

Have you ever considered adding a tooled up command squad to Captain?
Make your bike squads bigger.

If you do some searches, you will find quite a few good guides on how to build and run bike armies.
Have you thought about filling out your bikes to be full size, allowing for you to combat squad them? 3 bikes with a HB is 115 points, and gives you decent mid range support. Remember the attack bike can also fire its bolter in addition to the HB, giving you 4 bolter shots and 3 HB shots at 24"

Thats what i figured. I thought that HB attack bikes would make great anti infantry nits that could rapidly redeploy if needed.

Right...
So there are pros and cons to having small squads or larger squads.
I'm in the max size group, but an extra biker offers some more durability to each squad as points go up.
I find Multi-melta Attackbikers are made of win.
Hvy bolter Attackbikes are nice, but are not as rockstars as MMABs are.
Biker lists...are so flexible that almost ANYTHING can support it, becuase it does have lots of little holes to fill.
As to the tooled command squad, I'm not a huge fan...moar! troops bikers is what I'd go for instead, it's only in really high points you need dedicated assault units, at which point the Tooled Command Squad is in competition for ponts with the LR variet with Ass Termies inside. Automatically Appended Next Post: Yes, please try the search, there are a string of good threads about it, Dakka members can't get enough about talking about biker armies.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Sanctjud's list seems to be competitive.
Another good list is that from Timmah.
By the way, you might think about a RW force led by Sammael.

That's the beauty of a biker list.
Timmah goes with smaller squads of bikers and I go with larger, we both seem to have good experiences with both in competitive settings.
I will admit that I am not in a WAAC environment, and I do not know of Timmah's gaming group, they could be more competitive than mine, so YMMV.
As for RW, I think DA is only unique and 'workable' if they go Doublewing.
