please correct me if i am wrong, space marines flee from a close combat with their "and they shal know no fear" special rule. They just get to regroup for free on their next turn and can not be over ran.
- a few of the space marine players i play are trying to tell me their marines cant run from a combat even if they loose the round of cc

If a squad of space marines lose cc they can choose to fail their morale check. if they sucessfully break of they can regroup, fire and counter charge if they are in range.
if they are chatched the suffers the No Reatreat! rule in the fearless section in the main rulebook.

Emp's champ's got it. They flee like everyone else unless they're caught. Then (all of a sudden) they're fearless, so they can never be wiped out in such a manner.

But they can't regroup if within 6" of enemys or out of coherency.

And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it. |

So wait a minute. Based on what O'shovah said, does this mean that the SM's could in theory be wiped out by either a sweeping advance or a cross fire if they are with in 6" on another enemy squad? or they retreat through an enemy squad?
You guys covered an optional fall back but would they have to roll for moral if they get whomped in CC?
I STILL haven't gotten my book! AAARRRGGGHHH!
EDIT: Clearification

Rule one:
"combat tactics."
may choose to fail a morale test.
I.e, loose the combat choose to fall back. or roll.
Rule two:
"and they shall know no fear."
When falling back, they may auto-regroup.
if someone does anything to disser from that rule, piss on them

ATSKNF specifically addresses Sweeping Advances. They immediately regroup if caught.
Crossfire doesn't exist any more. Hasn't done since 3rd edition.
If their fallback is completely blocked by something that they can't go around (including enemy squads), they would be destroyed as normal.
You guys covered an optional fall back but would they have to roll for moral if they get whomped in CC?
Yes. They have the option to auto-fail, but can still choose to take the test as normal.
