So my son comes to me last week and says, "Dad, you know what I want for Christmas? I want you to finish painting the Necrons I got for my Birthday". Finish? He had not even started.

I painted a tombspider for him and he was gonna do the rest. But it didnt work out that way. So here they are. I have others I am still to finish I will post later.

Well, its hard to see in the pics but the Necrons have an oily look to them. The effect looks way better then the pictures show. I used red, green, blue and purple on each warrior. Some actually look more red or more blue and so on.

here are the destroyers, about 95% done They might show the paint scheme a little better.

I like the scarabs the best. The green makes them look like they are glowing.

Well, after looking at Ouze and his conversion of the Neccron Lords staff I have been inspired to try something similar. My bits are limited but I will post a pic when I get er done.

Heres the improved staff. Not great but for a fast try at it it works for me.

Ok, now I see the oily look. You definitely captured the 'oil on water' effect, although there might be a little bit too much purple.

I guess that means the Decepti-cron idea is still up for grabs. I wonder if I could make a Monolith that transformed into Megatron...

The oily effect that you were able to do is very unique. I really like that you've stayed away from the standard boltgun-metal-drybrushed-over-black scheme and incorporated other colors into your 'crons.

I'd like to see a Decepticron army that transforms into an extra large Nightbringer, with the lord as the head.

Surely it'd've have to be a Pylon that transformed into Megatron?

I told my son this was it. Anything else he got he was painting.

He just got some flayed ones as a late Christmas present from his aunt and he is begging me to paint them.

That's quite good... I like how you've achieved the glowing affect! But the green looks a bit 'out-of line', like you got some onto the outer body, but that's just IMHO. Awaiting an update!

I did get some on the outer parts as I was trying to paint the insides of the rib cages. I need in invest in a smaller brush. But its all good because these are my sons and he will be painting any more he gets and it becomes his problem now.
