I purchased 6 Killa Kans. Thing is 5 came with 40mm bases and were old school pacaged but direct orders from GW. The one in the newest package came with a 60mm base. I assumed since it was the newer model that this was the correct size and made some wooden bases on a lathe. Did I make the right call? Shouldnt take to much force to pry them off the wooden base but I am hoping I wont have to. Thanks for the help.

By the strict letter of the rules, you must base them with the base that they came with or Jervis will come while you sleep and do horrible things to you.

It's really simple: the rules say that you're supposed to use them on the base that they were supplied with, unless your opponent agrees otherwise (which is really the same with any rule in the rulebook). If you get two identical models that were supplied with different sized bases, you're really supposed to base them with their appropriate base - but I honestly doubt anyone will care. Hell, I honestly doubt anyone will even notice unless you point it out, and you're hardly getting any specific advantage out of it.

K cool. Trying to put one of those Kanns on a 40mm base was not looking very promising considering it hangs half way off. Now to buy a base for my Dread as GW seems to keep packaging things half assed Thanks again and merry christmas.

ive been playing with kans since i started playing.. and ive always used the 60mm bases beacause they fall over if you use the 40mm bases they come with..

GW should supply as with replacement base if they ask us to switch them to new sizes.

Thats what confused me. The ones that were direct GW orders had 40mm bases. The one I pulled off the shelf at the store that was in a box not a bits package had a 60mm Dreadnaught base. I went with the 60mm base size.

And remember, your not basing them to gain an advantage, so it would almost not matter....

But yeah, 60mms are better.....

They don't ask us to switch them to new sizes. The rules instead tell you to use the base the model was supplied with.
