Hey folks,

I am looking for advice on what to outfit the Stormlord's side sponson turrets. I cannot decide between the twin-linked heavy bolters or the twin-linked heavy flamers. Since the tank seems to gain a lot from remaining stationary and firing twice with its Vulcan mega-bolter, the heavy flamers seemed like a great anti-assault package. But should I just use some guardsmen for that and put the bolters on there to throw down some medium range firepower instead? I have never used the tank before so if anyone has some real game experience with it and would care to share that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I'd recommend the heavy bolters, the flamers are very close range and if your super-heavy is in range with its flamers than its in big trouble. If your worried about anything assulting it just swarm the sides with guard and use the heavy bolters to shoot instead. That said i've never actually used a super heavy before, so if i'm talking a bunch of crap just ignore my comment.

Good stuff, thanks, Lord Bingo. I believe you are correct the heavy bolters should be more effective overall unless my battle plan goes to complete hell. So I guess heavy bolters it is. If anyone can think of a reason to go with flamers please speak up otherwise my tank will get the bolter treatment.

Yes, heavy bolters are your weapon of choice.
Plus those 20 "passenger" models that may fire from the stormlord.
Its a nice firebase.....
