On the back of a hog.

These are pretty consistent translations from the leaked german codex. No one has disputed this. However, if that's not good enough then please indulge that this is pretty accurate wording for the sake of discussion.

From Winterman:

Rough Translation of his subterranean assault rule:
If the Trygon Deep Strikes into an enemy unit or impassable terrain, reduce the scatter by the minimum distance to avoid a mishap. Once the Trygon has, place a marker the size of his base where he lands. Any infantry coming in from reserve may use the Trygon's hole instead of the table edge. Place the unit within 6" of the hole, the unit may not move or assault. Only one unit may come in this way per hole.

So it seems a unit can arrive "with" the trygon, coming out of his hole the same turn. What do you guys think?

Another question concerns instinctive behavior. It seems to be that if you are outside synapse you have to make a LD test or succumb to IB. So what about fearless units like the Trygon? Does he auto-pass?

Also:

Vicious Mind: A single troop unit may flank and you get +1 to reserves.

When would a power like this be cast? At the beginning of the turn? Or is it a passive type power that is always on? If it is cast, then how long does it last? Does it stack like Autarchs or Astropaths if two Tyrants use it? What if he's not on the table?

I am still curious where the "original" english version is?
Didnt see the mentioned german one, cant comment on the validity of the translation.

Yes it may arrive this way.

So, forget about the drop spores, just send in three Trygons and three more units boil out of the holes, totally avoiding deepstrike mishaps. You probably still have to roll for arrival, but you know they will arrive safely, that's all. And with some big buddies preparing the way for them. Sounds like win all around.

All of the English copies of the Tyranid Codex were botched at the printer. Non English copies were unaffected. This caused a couple of things to happen:

1) Release date for the entire world pushed back.
2) English advance copies to GW stores, and Partnership stores will probably not be shipping out until after Jan. 1st. Could be later.

So not really a matter of "deeming to show", it's a matter of them getting made in the first place, and shipped around.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

Another question:

It does not say what termagaunts that are spawned by a Tervigon are armed with. For fairness sake I would assume the starting weapon (fleshborer). Tho I can see people trying to spawn broods armed with devoureres, etc.

I would love to know the actual answers.

That would, however, entail having a codex to reference.

This. Until the English version is released (which sadly I have been unable to get an advance copy of this time, hence the lack of an FAQ for it ), commenting on rules issues is a non-starter I am afraid.

Hi there
it's my first post here, so at first let me say a loud HELLO EVERYBODY to all of you.

I am a native german speaker, but mostly use english codices to play.
I was surprised to hear that there was a leak of the german version (did all other versions have these printing issues? why not a french or spanish leak?!?)

But i really dont belive this "leak", because everyone said it is real, but it is nowhere to be found and no one actually seems to have it....

That said i would be happy to answer all those rule questions, but it seems we all have to wait until the 16th of january ^^'

What is all wrong with the, wait for the english codex to come out? Don't we have alot of Germans on this site? They can read it for us, and at least for Germans explain how it plays for them.

There have been a few cases where each lanugauge does play a bit differently so I guess we will have to wait if we want to play the english way. Then again, US, Canada, UK, and Aussie english seems to be a bit different as well.

But what is wrong in having fun? Why can't we have fun tyring to figure out what the rules are as they are now. From "rumour" or "leak", lets have fun with it.

As the OP have asked, I would have to go with, units can DS the same turn as the Tygron has. But only One unit, and he would have to pass his roll to use it.

As for the Termagant question. I would say it would be the same Termagants that are either a) the brood he is in, if he is a troop choice or b) if he what the majority on the board is if he is an HQ choice.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Even using the translated rumors/codex this is a . . .random assertion.

Regarding the gaunts:
If i remember correctly the spawns are basic gaunts with fleshboreres and no other equipments.

I really wish i had the german codex at hand to answer those questions everywhere.

By the way:
This "flag is chosen according to IP" does not really work well. At least my flag is definetly not the german one...

I agree, that just doesnt make sense. Id imagine its a bone stock gaunt, plain and simple. Why would it be allowed to spawn all kinds of different gaunts depending on army list builds and all that?

It's gw, since when have they ever tried to keep their rules close to the fluff? As long as it sells models, it gets done (See: Thunderfire Cannon, Valkyrie, Land Speeder Storm etc).

hi
i went and took a look on the dex again, so now i can say two things:
at first the leak is real and it contains the same pages that i saw in the real codex.

regarding the tervigons gaunts:

the last sentence of that paragraph says:
Models of a spawned/breeded unit don't have any biomorphs and they always are equipped with fleshborers.
The sentence before this one states that a spawned unit is identical to a normal termagaunt unit from the foc's core slot and is treated like that for scenariorules.
So they are normal bareboned termagaunts that can capture mission objectives.

Its up to you if you believe me or take some salt but that is what the german codex really says. ^^

Tunneling Trygon

So it seems a unit can arrive "with" the trygon, coming out of his hole the same turn. What do you guys think?

The text you quoted that I posted was not a verbatim translation. There's been a number of rumour mongers that have said the tunnel cannot be used in the following turn, and my newbish attempt at translation leaves me thinking that is the case. Best to wait for the english version though.

Also,

Another question concerns instinctive behavior. It seems to be that if you are outside synapse you have to make a LD test or succumb to IB. So what about fearless units like the Trygon? Does he auto-pass?

IB test is a leadership test. Fearless models only autopass morale and pinning tests. So a Trygon (and any non synapse unit except genestealers) will have to make an IB test unless they are in synapse. That has some large implications for some units.

Unless the rest of the rumors are true, and the main change in Syanpse = loss of EW.

But this was mostly covered in my first post in this thread.

I was just going by gut instince. I am not fimiliar with GW rules yet, since I only model and paint. I am learning the rules now, but that is what I thought it would be. If he was in a brood with upgraded Gants, why would he spit out regular ones then? He (or is it a she since she would be making new gants lol) is already in controll of them. But as I see after reading some posts, it could be a tiny bit over powered if if we could spit out devourers. But then agian, I thought this would have been included with the over all price, as some units seem over costed or nerfed a bit. Would seem to be a fair trade.
