I while ago, I started playing D&D (Dungeons and Dragons, of course) and enjoyed it immensely. Unfortunately, due to the absence of available players, my friends and I had to stop. Now, I'm more into 40K, and I was wondering if there were any RPGs based on the 40K universe, besides Inquisitor, and what opinions people had on them. Opinions on inquisitor would also be quite helpful.

Have you played any of these games, and if you have could you give me an opinion and explain a bit on the gameplay? I descriptions are a little too vague to get a good idea of how they work.

I've only heard good things about Dark Heresy, but I've never had the chance to play it - no idea where I'd find a group.

I hear that you should always shoot the party Psyker if they try to use their powers.

I am currently running a Rogue trader game, and it is a good system, although unless your really into the fluff of 40k some of the stuff is going to go over peoples heads

Dark heresy your players are acolytes of an inquisitor, they start out somewhat pathetic, but they eventually can become members of the inquisition, with the next book coming out.

Rogue Trader your players are the crew of a rogue trader whip, they start a little more powerful (or at least with better gear)and they are far more likely to travel outside the bounds of the Imperium.

the two systems have interchangeable characters

Dark Heresy is an excellent system. I've played/GM'd it as acoyltes, guardsmen, Astartes, etc and it holds up very well. I honestly can't recommend it enough.

And yeah, always have someone with a big gun pointed at the psyker's head when they do anything.

Game is very fun. I just don't have time to play it. I'm also selling my GM kit, Inquisitors Handbook, and Creatures Book.
