Folks,
I've never really considered Chronus much, but how effective/cost effective do you reckon he would be in a one of the following (both include the price of Chronus):
1) Predator with Autocannon turret, Lascannon sponsons, Hunter-Killer Missile - 200
2) Predator with Autocannon turret, Heavy Bolter sponsons, Hunter-Killer Missile, Storm Bolters - 175
While the configs are more suited to tackling a particular type of target, has anyone had any experience with these? I find it impressive to be able to ignore all Shaken and Stunned results, and all thoes guns firing at BS5 will make the oponent sweat; only question is whether you can justify the 70pt price tag for him?

I've never played him but I think either loadout would work (I'd drop the HK missiles to cheap it up a bit).
Predator 1 would be very good at knocking out transports and walkers and definately a way to counter those damn Vendettas. Camp it in cover and you should be ok.
Predator 2 almost seems like overkill against infantry, which is something that Marines do pretty well. Its cheaper and killy but you have things like TFC and Whirlwinds for mass infantry removal.

As was mentioned, I would save points and pass on the SB and HK.
With that 70 points your paying for the following
* The ability to move and shoot until destroyed
* The BS of a 5
* A model with a servo-arm if the tank is destroyed.
All in all, not a bad deal if you have a spare 70 points laying around.

Its a point sink, for 70 points you get a Speeder with multimelta and heavy flamer.

Chronus by himself costs almost as much as a second AC/HB predator. I don't think he's worth it for any tank in the book.
Yes, you can stretch a predator out to 3 times as much as it should cost, but wouldn't you rather just have 2 more instead?

My friend uses him in a standard land raider to good effect.
He uses the raider to camp on objectives and for fire support.

Listen to this man, he's got the right idea. Predators are cool because they're cheap. The only time I'd think about putting Chronus in a competitive SM army is after I've filled all 3 Heavy slots and I have points leftover. In that case, I'd give him a Combi-Predator (if he had to be on a Predator).
The best thing for Chronus to use is a Vindicator, since Loyalist Marines don't have access to D. Possession.

Pimping a vehicle tends to not be worth it unless it
A. increases firepower at a reasonable cost like bolter sponsons or las cannon sponsons on said predator.
B. makes the vehicle more resilient or better at doing its job like extra armor on land raider to deliver assault terminator squad.

I think the only tank that Chronus *might* be useful on is the Vindicator. He is simply too expensive to really be effective.
