My old docs are, as of 12.25.09, seven years old, with almost all the tread stomped off and any semblance of foot support rotted away. My mum hooked me up with $200 for a new pair of boots, and after much deliberation I want to stick with DM, as the old pair have served me so well. But two questions:

1) I've heard various things about how the new docs are made in China and are apparently crap. My old pair were proudly Made in England, but will my new pair really be junk in comparison?

2) I'm having a bit of a hard time deciding what size boot to order online. My old boots are a UK size 11 or 12 (with the second digit rubbed away), though they have been a bit too big since I got them - I wear two socks and still have plenty of room, particularly to the sides. I wear a US 13, which makes me think UK 12 is still right, but given all the play in my old boots I'm wondering if UK 11 is the one to go with ...

Any advice from other boot wearers, whether US, UK, or else-sized would be appreciated

Excelant choice in footwear Salvage,I've sported Docs since age 14 and have always loved them.
Now in attempts to answer your questions.
The last pair of Docs I got was 2 years ago, stamped Made in England, and there in great shape..have not heard of Docs being made in China,if your concerned about this issue you shoud inquire where the boots are produced from your distributor.

As for sizes,I too wear a size 13 (UK 12) and have always experinced a fine fit with that size,if you wear an American size 13 I would stick with UK 12 as an 11 may indeed be to tight.

Cheers for the input lads, particularly on DM still kicking butt. Consumer confidence is rising, plunge may be taken shortly

Clearly the Young Ones bit sealed the deal for me, whilst also reminding me how much I miss that show ...
