Evening all (or whatever your timezone says the time of the day is for you) - I'm just getting back into painting miniatures and wargaming after a few years away due to catching up with a friend who I'd lost touch with. He asked me to do a bit of painting for him as it was always the part I most enjoyed, so I've been browsing the forums over the past few days without registering to try and remember some old tips and tricks that I need to get back into the swing of things.
I've started a blog to try and keep my thoughts and experiences in one area whilst I re-learn old skills, so everyone feel free to check it and let me know (see my signature, or alternatively, you can go direct to
http://modelpainter.blogspot.com/)
Plugging aside, a bit about me - I'm Andy, from the North East of England, and I've just hit 30 years old. I'm primarily a
40k fan, but have played a lot of the smaller games (Necromunda, Blood Bowl, Hero Quest, Space Hulk, and Warhammer Quest (I think that was what it was called anyway) as well.
My main focus is painting though - never really enjoyed the games as the tended to drag on too long and always led to arguments over rules - at least with painting you can concentrate on the task at hand, and if youre stuck with nothing to do for half an hour, you can always go and do a bit of detail work on a miniature, theres no way you can get a quick game of
40k in.
Anyway, there we go - me in less than 2000 words. I'm sure there will be more over the course of my time on the forums though.
