Dont know much about guard except for what i've seen when my friend plays them against me, but i'd suggest you take down the number of rattlings and stick maybe some more points into some guardsmen. from what i've seen in many of the games i've played, guard manage to achieve a draw or victory by overwhelming numbers of forces, not by using individual strong units

Armies:
Children of Tzeentch (1850 points) W:11/L:6/D:5
Kabal of the Twisted Storm (750 points) W:4/L:1/D:1

The main problem with the list is that you need a second Troops choice. The PCS, 2x IS and 2x HWS count as one Troops, so you need another platoon or a vet squad.

In general, you may have too many expensive units for the amount of bodies to protect them. I would give infantry at least special weapons.

Fun and Fluff for the Win!

Thanks Murdog. I will re-write the list accordingly, I did not realize I only had 1 troop choice.

I think that the 5 man stormtrooper squad is a little weak and the points can be spent elsewhere, if it had more wounds, or more meltas it could be counted on more, but... If it doesn't kill the tank, no if ands or buts, that squad is dead. So I would suggest getting chimera-y goodness, seeing as you only have 2 troop choices. You could also get some heavy weapons or special weapons...

Yeah, I was thinking that too, also, I have a Vanquisher for AT, plus a bunch of lascannons. What about taking out the stormtroopers and making the ratling squad 10-man?

At a fundamental level, you're not bringing enough firepower. As a new player, a good rule of thumb is to fill every available slot with an assault weapon, and to give every non-mobile squad a heavy weapon.

The best IG heavy weapons are lascannons (which you have) and autocannons. Assuming you're using plastic Cadians, it should be possible to use the heavy weapon box to make way more than 3 heavy weapons teams. If you're short on bits, ask around at your local store, and you may find a helpful veteran player who can give you some. Special weapons are a rarer commodity, but a lot of sprues these days are coming with extra meltas, and the IG box comes with flamers and grenade launchers, so you should be in good shape. A good semi-mech army also needs more than one Chimera, but that can come later.

If I were you, I would also drop Pask + the Vanquisher completely in favor of either stock Russes (w/o sponsons), Demolishers, or Executioners. I'd also consider dumping Creed, since he costs a lot of points; you can buy two CCS for less than the cost of one CCS with Creed. I'd also have a long-term goal of ending up with a Manticore instead of a Medusa, but I realize the Medusa conversion is far easier with a Basilisk kit.

HQ could happily do with a heavy weapon (Autocannon/lascannon).

The troop choices are far too minimal. The platoon squad is just terrible, needs to make use of the "combine squad" rule; Tis a good place to put lascannons, voxes & allow you twin-linked lascannons on a re-rollable LD9. Compared to possibly twin-linked lascannons on a non-re-rollable LD7. The veteran squad.. where are the weapons veteran squads are famous for?!

All those camo-netting and no cover to qualify. You will-not be able to gain a cover-save from a infantry meat-shield. Unless the firer is up-close, the tank will not be 50% covered. If you had a wall of chimera's to accomplish this task, fine. You dont, so at the moment (unless you run extremely cover-dense games) your wasting alot of points on camo nets.

Heavy support; Well.. Lets say we pool the storm-troopers, Medusa & both Leman russes into a point total. You get 740pts (nearly half). Subtract 160 and spend it on a Manticore (there isn't a model for it so you can proxy your Bassie). That leaves 580, get two LRBT's with plasma-cannon sponsons. Thats 200pts spare, 20pts shy of a Pask Vanquisher (but sadly you dont have the model for it).
