Hey Guys,

My veteran troops are going to be from a Savannah planet that I've made up... The planet has a small population and only one mostly automated centre of production, so its fortunate enough to have a low tithe and be able to equip them luxuriously... The models themselves are simply pig iron heads on cadian bodies; the fluff being that the planet is close to Cadia so it produces Cadia-pattern equipment but due to its low tithe can invest in luxuries such as high-tech armour.

ANYWAY, some of the models have bare flesh showing, be it because of a wound or the Sergeant having no helmet and I'd really like to know how to paint them with African skin tones, any help?

I'm just sick of painting Cadians with blonde hair and blue eyes, see...

Outstanding article indeed. I really wanted to throw some variations in skintone in my army.

In what little experiments I have done, I find that vermin brown and schorced brown can give either good bases or solid colors to other ethnicities. I also still have an old bottle of GW flesh wash which I can create darker shades with. Theres plenty of room in that old formula for more or less water, depending on what kind of wash you want. I assume the same could be done with the newer washes (Ogryn Flesh in particular), but after using the new badab black, I am slightly dissapointed in the new formula change.

The difference between commitment and involvement is like eggs and ham; the ckicken was "involved", the pig was "comitted".

Graveyard earth makes for a nice Mediterranean/olive skin tone. Dark without being too dark & loosing detail.
