every time i play against my brother, i always lose to him (exept then he use space marines and i useing ork or necrons i get a decent chance)! i tried to beat his imperial guards with hordes of orks, he just use "1st rank fire, 2nd rank fire!"! necrons, "1st rank fire, 2nd rank fire!"! space wolfs (only 500 pts game), "1st rank fire, 2nd rank fire!"! oh, did i forgot to mention his basilisks?
havent used tyranids against his imp. guards yet, but got beaten up against space marines (3 times!!!)!
can i have some advice on how to beat him?!?

How about taking a mech SM army?
Take 3 Tactical squads in Rhinos, Dakka Preds, Termies in Landraider, some Landspeeders with multimelta & heavy flamer, and 2 Dreads, led by Librarian.

Ok, so just telling someone to buy a new army isn't really going to help...
FRF,SRF is a useful tool, but it shouldn't be winning all these games for him.
It would help us to know what exactly he uses in his army, and what models you have available for your armies. Then we can suggest how to use those models together...

Looks like your big problem is you're playing 500 point games. Although Orks *should* do fairly well at this points level, I'm guessing you don't have enough Boyz on the table to get across it and assault conclusively before you get shot to pieces.
Try using three squads of Shoota Boyz with a Power Klaw nob and a Warboss with Power Klaw. Stick to cover and, as crazy as it sounds, out-shoot him. Three 20-boy shoota squads will be able to throw 120 dice in the shooting phase. Even though you miss 2/3 of the time, you're still hitting him with 40 S4 hits. That's enough to wipe out a squad of guardsmen or half a squad of Marines every turn.

Usually if you're getting beat every time it's less a function of what army you're using, and more because he's probably a better player than you. I'd suggest reading the rulebook, as tactics are based off of rules knowledge.

hi you can see who I am, the real reason he looses to me is that he's not organized, he sprints forward with out taking care of my gun fire just standing in the open, and he's too unbalanced, just close quarters, yes I am not too good my self but my army knows how to defend itself, in our last 500pts battle he used necrons and he had 20 warriors (on two groups of cause) and a necron lord with war scythe and destroyer body, i had 4x imp guard squads with 2x plasma guns and 2x melta guns, 2 inf command squads one with bolt pistol and four close combat buddies and one with bolter and normal guardsmen, one command squad with heavy flamer and a bolt pistol to the commander and at last a basilisk, so i had some backup, i usually form a firing line and use my FRF SRF to mow down his units while he moves in for the kill, so I did this time but he left his warriors in place more than 36" away from my basilisk he couldn't get any cover save and he's lord speeded forward and killed most of my command squad and my close quarters junior squad and killed 8 men in ranged with his warriors, he's necronlord died fast and I'd fast wipeout his warrior squad with artillery fire, we played for 3 turns.
his problem is that he is attacking my command units and not my infantry, he lets me shoot and blow his units to kingdom come only focusing on the commanders who gives the orders and get shot to pieces in the proses, that is why he looses.
(sorry for the short review but it made my point )

infantry wins gunfights! tanks wins battles! but artillery wins wars! and so do i |

Wow, is that really all you get for 500pts? 20 warriors and a Necron Lord?
Well, in this situation it's more about choosing WHEN to run forward. The Necron Lord has a total 18" charge range. I'd keep everything in cover until the Lord is (in cover) 18" away, then charge the closest infantry squad with your Lord, and hopefully work your way through them. Once you've thinned their lines, THEN advance with your Necrons.
However, I might find a better army list first. A really tooled-up Necron Lord is probably too powerful to fight Guard. What you really want is a character that takes TWO rounds of combat to make a Guard Squad flee. If you have a really powerful one, he'll rout a Guard squad in the first round of combat and be left exposed to fire.
I might try and fit in a couple of fast moving units such as Wraiths to tie up leading Guard squads, even if it means losing the powerful Lord. Your main considerations when fighting Guard are
1. Weapons that inflict as many hits as possible (rather than ones with a high Strength), so blast markers and guns with lots of shots.
2. Something that has a REALLY big charge range.
Another tactic may be to take a Monolith and hold back with it, or keep the Necron Squads in reserve. The only weapons he has that have a good chance against a Monolist are the two meltaguns, and they would have to advance to YOU to hurt it. Let him move towards you and then bring in the Necron Squads.
Your intention here is to keep out of range of the massed lasguns, and tie up a couple of squads a turn with charges, or by getting them to fire at something else...

already got a monolith, but its impossible to fit it in a 500 points list, but in other games, i always take it. its really, really, really good! + it can teleport a unit of warriors right to the enemy so they can blast them to smitherins!
