Title says it all really. My gaming group is trying to start a bit of a Gorkamorka league, and I have found that 'Kannons', which are basically big orky shotguns, are great weapons. But I have no idea how to convert them.

Any ideas, Dakka?

Lengthening a Heavy Bolter might work.

What about taking SM scout shotguns and Orkyfying them? they're alread big and beefy. Give them a bigger barrel and some gubbins and you should be set.

The only problem with using a SM shot gun, is compared to a normal Ork weapon, they are tiny.

Id imagine cutting up some shootas and half way turning them into a big shoota. But make sure instead of a big machine gun, you make it look like a big shot gun. Thats all thats coming to my head right now, as like I said previously, other weapons in 40k look tiny next to Ork weapons

Fair enough. Never worked on orks before.

Whatever you go with, consider adding some shotgun shells onto the gun or mini holding the gun. That should help, I think.

That Id agree with. Orks arnt known for shotguns normally, so just to keep the confusion down. That and it would look cool having a belt across the chest with shells in it

I would do a bit of conversion on shootas, perhaps making them appear to be orky versions of a blunderbuss (spelling?).

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

One design I've been looking at now is the squarish shoota, with the ammo clip removed and the circular bit at the end of the barrel removed.

Another thought, and Im not sure how you would do it, but I think adding a butt stock on the shoota would help out alot. Taking the clip off, the butt stock and a few small details and you should have some really nice looking Ork shotguns.
