Heyo,

I want to buy a small (500 point-ish) tyranid army for my boyfriend for his birthday. I recently started 40k and am still rather green, so I am not sure what the best option is. He has never played before, he likes space hulk ( specifically genestealers ), and I am trying to convince him to try out 40k with me. What do you think the best option is? Should I buy him a battle force? Or would it be better to buy him a couple of boxes of core units. And what are good core units to buy him for Tyranids if that is the case?

Thanks for any help, and sorry if this is the wrong place for this question.

If you want to get him into nids the best bet is the battleforce. It has the key units in it...Just don't glue the arms of the warriors on yet (since we aren't 100% sure which are the most effective).

Start with the Battleforce box set. Then in 2 weeks when the codex comes out he can start from there.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?
