Unfourtunatly their is no "Death Guard" army in 5th ed,by that I mean their are no "official" rules for a Death Guard army.
However, you can always build a proxied Death Guard using the current CSM codex.

My advice is to use Daemon prince with MON /wings/ rot or warptime as your HQ (perhaps including a lord or second DP if your playing larger games).
Troops would be entirely made up of Plauge Marines (perhaps a few "lesser daemons" (plaugebearers),rhinos for transports.
Heavy suport: Vindicators,Predators or Obliterators (depending on your play style).
I also use lots of terminators,as fluffwise the Death Guard have plenty of terminators in their ranks.

Standard Chaos Tournaments lists are basically the same, with slight variations based on playstyle.

HQ: 1-2 Daemon Princes, Wings, Warptime (add appropriate Mark)
ELITE: 0-3 Termicide squads (3-4 Terminators with Combi-Melta for killing tanks)
TROOP: 3-5 Rhino mounted squads with a mix of Meltaguns/Flamers/Plasma and Power Fists
HEAVY: Atleast 2 Vindicators/Predators/Defilers or pairs of Oblits. Land Raider(s) can also work.

Well, I'd take two winged DPs with MoN and nurgle's rot,
3 full squads of PM in Rhinos, each of which led by AC with powers and 2 special weapons of the same type, and
6 Obliterators.
The rest is personal preference.

I have a DP with Wings (obviously), MoN, and Warptime, and he's great.

Take Plague Marines, and only Plague Marines for Troops, if You want it to really be a fluffy DG army.

I have a Defiler, and am planning on adding some Vindicators.

Basically, take Plague Marines. Death Guard is pretty basic.

Cheers for the info.

I have seen there is not a Death Guard army, but i will use the CSM rules and make an Army using that.

I will put a list up to see what you all think.

Good start but you made some minor mistakes that will cost you
1) Regear the Terminators. Reaper isn't that good and neither is a lone Champion. Instead use those points to buy atleast 1 Fist weapon and a Heavy Flamer. Maybe 1 pair of Claws if you like the way they look. The TL Bolters help to compensate for the lack of Frags if/when you charge into cover.

2) Rhinos + D. Possession is too expensive. Cheapen them up by dropping that upgrade. Your squads are good but the Plasma squad can get away without having a Champion if you want to use those points elsewhere.

3) The Predator's loadout is kind of weak. AC/LC is cheaper and better at handling light armor/MCs. D. Possession is also wasted since you want to use your BS4 and it adds alot to your price cost.

If you cheapen up enough things here and there, you should be able to fit in another Daemon Prince. That will be a big upgrade.

You may want to rethink taking the dreadnought, the crazed rule can have it firing on your own forces, wich can really feth up any competitive game for you.

You could always beef up your terminator sqaud.
However, your list is still in the developmental stages, play around with it a bit more.

5 Power Fists is a waste. The biggest bonus of Chaos Terminators is that they're cheap in comparison to normal Terminators.

Here is my 5 man Land Raider squad
5 Terminators, Heavy Flamer, Chain Fist (Mark Optional) = 170 points + mark. This unit is cheaper then a bare bones Loyalist squad and still packs alot of punch.

The points saved here and losing the Dreadnought should buy you another DP

My Death Guard army is huge (4000+ points),so I can use many different configurations.
This is an example of one of the list I enjoy running.

HQ: Daemon Prince with wings/MON/warptime-175pts
HQ: Sorcerer with MON/Wind of Chaos-150 pts

Elites: 7 Terminators (Chainfist/3powerfist/5 combi wepons/heavy flamer) 280 pts

Troops: X2 7 Plauge marines (champ with P.fist/combi wepon X2 meltas in rhino)-256pts

Troops: 7 Plauge marines (champ with plasma pistol/p.fist X2 plasma guns in rhino)-281 pts
Troops: 6 Plauge marines X2 flamers in rhino (sorcerer goes with this sqaud)-298pts

Heavy: Predator with Autocannon/ HB and TLB-105 pts
Heavy: Preadator with Lascannons/LC sposons-170pts
Heavy: Vindicator withDemonic posesion/TLB-150pts

This list has proven to be alot of fun,but is by no means a "win all" list.
As I said,I have a multitude of "set ups" I use,and this list is simply to help with some ideas.

No,CSM can only use the Landraider option in their codex,so your limited to transporting a max of 5 terminators.

That is easily a tournament level army. The only changes I would make are fairly minor.
1) Drop the Havoc Launcher and use those points to buy E. Armor for your Land Raider because its more important that the Land Raider moves then your Vindicator gets an extra weapon that it can't fire if it fires the Demolisher.
2) I'd take a Combi-Plasma in the Plasma squad. Power Fist and Kraks provide enough back up anti-tank and 6 Plasma shots has a nice chance of killing alot of Terminators or an MC.

I put the havoc launcher on the vindicator so if it had weapon destroyed it would still be able to do something.

but i see the point with the Extra Armour

whidbey

yeah if it gets weapon destroyed it becomes a tank shocker and objective contester.

the list seems light on troops I know that plague marines are tough but in 5 objective games you can claim 3 at most. you could drop a few extra and add a squad of demons

Made in us

Well the basic outline for a competitive list is:

2 Princes.
minimum 3 Rhino squads o 7+ plague marines, pairs of meltas or flamers with fist. Plasma squads w/o fists.
Whatever combination you want.
A pair of hvy support (defiler, vindi, oblits).

That's the basic outline I've seen.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Following the above post, yes, it looks decent.
I'm meh about the IoN but it does fit with theme.

For 2000 it seems on the 'low' end of scoring bodies for my tastes.

The hvies look ok, but I prefer a pair of somethings there.

I've gotta question about this list. The plasmagun PM squad has a combi-melta/PF but no champion, is this allowed?

Some people get it, most don't. How bout you, do you get it?

Nice Catch, that squad's points don't match up to the gear it has to be a legal unit.
That plasma squad should be 276 to be legal.

Wee Haggis prob. just forgot to include the champion.

Easily fixed by dropping say.... Nurgle's Rot or the Vindi's Havoc Launcher.

This list looks good and much improved!

as has been said however I'd do 'something' about the Plasma/rhino squad.

My major qualm that hasnt been commented on so far is the lack of cohesion within the heavy support choices, I mean you have a short-ranged vindicator, a long ranged pred and a long ranged but CC capable defiler... I'd recommend, as the rest of your army will be in close quarters, dropping the Predator (or defiler) for another Vindicator as this would fit much better with the rest of your army and as Sanctjud said, pairs are often better!

Oh and I agree with Sanctjud, there may be too few troops and I wouldnt recommend the Plasma champion or havoc launcher on vindicators...

Hope this has helped. Regards, Dave.
