Alright, so it doesn't seem too likely that the Grey Knights will go the way of the Squats. With rumours of a redo and plastics and such. And yet I can't help but remember...this is GW we're talking about. They can and will do anything, apparerntly because the Chaos Gods are making there buisness plan up. Given I've just finished painting up around 2000 points of Grey Knigthy goodness this does not bode well for me, so I figured, in the unlikely even that doom becons Chapter 666...how will I run the models?

Scanning through the various MEQ Codexes, it looks like the best choice is using it as a Logan Grimnar/Wolf Guard force. You can upgrade the Wolf Guard to have similar weapons, at least, so the models will be more or less right in terms of wargear. And having the Terminators being scouring would be hilarious. But boy, is that a points heavy root...and people complain about how much PAGK cost now.

Does anyone have a better option? Just in case.

I wouldn't worry about it at all. If any army is going to go the way of the squats anytime soon it's the Dark Eldar.

Grey Knights are too firmly embedded in the fluff, with a trilogy of novels about them and the fact that they're Space Marines, GW's best-selling range of models.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

i would disount the rumors of plastic though, as in the past GW said `hey look our all metal army' its been kinda a tradiotion that the grey knights have always been (excluding vehicals) metal. (including the inqusitors. and most of the retinues. witch hunters was the same.

as for tips, if they do get squated use em as a space marien chapter, or just continue to use the old codex.

New GK models are apparently due this year. Not sure if they'd be plastic though.

I read about the rumours, I'm simply being...cautious. I very much doubt they'll be squatted myself, but then, I didn't expect the Squats to be Squatted either. And the Inquisition Armies aren't exactly money makers for GW. So while I don't expect it to happen, I know if they think it'll save them money the Knights will be nothing but fluff.

As People have said, they are very unlikely to be dropped.

However if they do I would lean towards Space Wolves, with Logan as HQ you could use Wolf Guard as troops. You can then give them Storm Bolters and Power Weapons for PA Grey Knights and the Termies would be easily represented too.

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

No necessarily. Its possible that the Inqusition could just be removed from being a separate army and their units turned into choices for Space Marines or the Imperial Guard. Though they aren't a codex chapter, the Grey Knights are still Space Marines. I could see them repurposed into some kind of anti-chaos unit for Guard and SM players.
