I will not be playing against Chaos marines, nor chaos deamons as per rules of the good the bad the ugly. Its more of a transport hunting list.

I am curious if any players have tried a Necron list like this (lots of wraiths mixed with lots of H. destroyers.)

I cant say Im extremely comfortable with this list, but I think Ive tried nearly every combination possible with the Necrons and I would like to try a few more for some practice before Ard Boyz in May.

It seems OK, I would recommend dropping the Pariahs as they don't seem to have a place in the list and ditching several of the Lords upgrades to include more Warriors. You are VERY light on troops and could be phased out easily. You need more bodies and either Tomb Spiders or Res. Orbs to help with this.

And if possible get another Res Orb and disruption fields for the Scarabs? Scarabs can screen and hunt transports, whilst your Lords with Res Orbs can help prevent phase out and help your valuable units...

Hell Im not even sure if the monolith is needed tbh.

Hope that helped. Dave.

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

List seems interesting, but still has some issues.

Pariahs unfortunately suck and aren't very useful unit. They excel in close combat, but cannot make it because they have no transport option. I would ditch these and go immortals.

I've used wraiths and not impressed. Units are too small and they're not that strong. I would get destroyers in larger units as they can take out vehicles at range, and their ranged weapon is the same strength as a wraith anyway.

Scarabs need dis fields to damage vehicles.

I would drop the monolith and add tomb spyders, use these to protect your warriors from combat. You'll still have plenty of points left as well.

Edit: Saw a new strategy with this list that could work.

I would take out the Phase Shifters because I don't think they will help you much. And those are points better spent on increasing your total model count. Using 4 Pariahs really only works well when combined with Flayed Ones to defend your objective.

--------------------------------------

Using element of you Wraith Wing/ H. Destroyer list, I would run this:

HQ
Lord- Gof, Des. Body, Warscythe, Chrono - 165
Lord- Gof, Des. Body, Warscythe, Res Orb - 195

Troops
Warriors x10 - 180
Warriors x10 - 180

Elites
Flayed Ones x8- 144
Pariahs x4- 144

Fast
Wraiths x3- 123
Wraiths x3- 123
Scarabs x8- 96

Heavy
Monolith 235
H. Destroyers x2- 130
H. Destroyers x2- 130

Total - 1845pts
------------------------------------

I would play this defensively and force your opponent to come to you or be pummeled by Monolith Pie Plates and H. Destroyer fire.

there's a little flag next to my username, in case u didn't know.

yea I agree with everyone else ditch the phase shifter it's useless. also I thought lords could only have up to 100+ pts worth of upgrades? anyways yea drop some upgrades, ditch the pariahs for some immortals good fire power or GET MORE WARRIORS!!!

Although I appreciate the advice, the tournament has come and gone. You can read about it in the battle report section with the title "Crons @ Good, the Bad, the Ugly III". The lord was a hero in most games. Phase shifter only came into play vs the Harlequins but it kept him ticking and killing dancing elves. The other two games he just killed tanks, and lots of 'em. Although I did not take the list I posted here. Essencially I swapped the scarabs and 3 H. Destroyers for 4 destroyers and 1 lord for the Deciever.

Lords can have 100pts of wargear plus the Warscythe(not inclusive), thus a 210pt lord is legal.

ditch the pariahs and take more warriors. I played against Necrons the other day and he lost because he didn't have enough warriors to claim objectives.

Check his above post. Army altered and played. He did very well without the Warriors, but generally I also am an advocate of taking more, they are good IMO and you need to them to claim objectives.
