Subject: Necron 1500 vs tank heavy IG

Monolith 235
Necron Lord (Veil, phylac) 175
Immortals x8 224
10 warriors x2 360
4 destroyers 200
Lord (nightmare, destro bod, warscy) 200
7 scarabs w/ disruption 112
total = 1506 (the IG player is fine w/ 6 points over)
The 1st lord is w/ the immortals and is veiled in. they would begin shooting up infantry squads w/ lascannons
The second lord w/ the scarabs would jetbike in to a position between troops and a tank. next turn they would nightmare the troops, and assault a tank
The destroyers would move into a position to hit the side armor of a tank, or a unit w/ lascannons.
If Anihilation, the warriors and monolithw would slowly charge right up the center, because this particular IG player plays extremly defensively.
any critiques?

One quick thing to say first:
Why is the 2nd Lord 200pts? 100 (for the lord) + 30 (D-body) + 30 (Nightmare Shroud) + 10 (warscythe) = 170...
Anyways, it looks like a fairly solid list, the only thing that may be a problem (not sure because I don't know how your opponents play) is that with no res orb near the warriors, they can get ID'd (and no WBB) fairly easily, especially by IG Tanks, so you really have to make sure they stay alive.
Also, remember that with only one squad of immortals and destroyers, if they all die, nothing can get them back up...

hmm you make a good point about the res orb, do you think i should scratch the immortals and their lord, and put a lord between the two warrior squads w/ a rez orb. Then i could field 2 squads of 4 destroyers each, and tht puts me at 1417 pts. i could field another destroyer and some more warriors. or possibly just more warriors, any further suggestions?

Hmm that's a tough one...I guess it's to decide between the immortals (who with a lord could deepstrike to get into position) or Destroyers (who can turboboost and have longer range)....I personally would go with more destroyers, because I really like the longer range and S6 weapons can ID guardsmen (and those annoying heavy weapons teams when necessary), however because destroyers cost so much, it reduces how many targets your enemy has, as well as lowering the phase out number...

If you know your opponent is bringing IG, then I assume you have an idea of what his list looks like. I really have no idea how you skeletons work, but I do know how a Armored Company does. If you can give me a better idea of how your list works, to someone who doesn't know necrons, but knows the game... and/or a list of what your opponent is bringing I can tell you what you need to beat his list.
What I can tell you right off is simple. If I was fighting skeletons I would go tank heavy. Russ are S8 AP3 large blast. That goes clean through your armor, and insta kills all of you metal abominations. I always have to watch out for Orbs tho, that makes things more complicated. The last necon lord I killed was accompanied by a squad of scarabs, and they were going wicked fast. I padded all of my tanks with troops, and when he locked up some of my men in CC I let him, and hit him with a mob of flamers afterwards. Hellhounds and Russ would be my best choices, and a platoon to protect everything. Necrons generally lack a lot of volume of shots, so if I put 100 troops on the board... it tends to slow you down.
BTW I hear your "dragon god" is chillin in a prison in the center of Mars, doing the work of the God Emperor. How's that working out for you guys?

List looks alright, but I'd throw in some heavy destroyers for anti tank. I don't think the first lord is needed as immortals have a long enough range as it is. They have 24" range and can start up to 12" into the board and move 6" and fire, so thats a massive 42" range.
