first off has anyone seen/handled one of these?

do people think if it is the right scale it would work as a valk or a Vulture for an arbite themed army? cause i don't really liket the valkyrie for the arbites but i am happy to have it in my normal guard army.

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

I have nbever seen one in the flesh but I could see it being pulled off quite nicely.

Those things were really cool in the fillm, infact that film just screamed 40k at me like the IG fighting someone like the Kroot. such an inspiring film.

If you decide to go ahead with the idea please post pictures !!

I haven't seen them in rea lifel, but my guess looking at some pictures with people holding them is that the scale would be pretty off for a valkyrie. That looks 1/32 to me, rather than 1/48. But you could definitely make another kind of flying vehicle... and use the "stands for" rules

If the Valk was not already out I'd have bought a dozen of them.

But it is, and I like it, so I haven't.

Anyway yeah, I think it would work but really (barring the $50 pricetag vs $25 for the toy) I don't see any reason to.

i've seen them and looked at them. there 6inch gijoe scale for lack of a better word. I have looked all over for the command flyer but so far no such luck, it would be massive though.

there a bit large but with work they would probably make a great 40k piece

If that's GI-Joe scale, then it's going to be much to big for a Valk. It could be modified into another vehicle however. Your biggest difficulty will be the scaling of the cockpit, but it's not insurmountable.

If the avatar toys take off, then it's possible that we could get a smaller scale line as well....

If you want a scale vtol that would work for 28mm, you're much better off looking for one of the terminator gunships.

Yeah, it's GI Joe-scale. Go to the link and click on the second picture. You can see that the pilot is larger than the man's index finger - GI Joe size.

G.I. Joes are usually about a foot tall. Thats hard 5 inches. Maybe a bit big for a valk but definitely could make for a cool conversion!
If someone finds a good command ship maybe a tau Manta?

Maybe he's thinking about the old skool Barbie escort Joes, KK. They were a foot tall. But yeah, the new ones are 3 3/4" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G.I._Joe). Oh, 'scuse me - there's also the 8" Sigma 6 line, too. But the Avatar figure doesn't look nearly that big.

I bought two of those when they came out. They are slightly bigger than the Valk. I shortened the tail section and I am adding a ramp to the crew compartment. Also, the two underslung turrets are being replaced by heavy bolters. The missile pods are fine, though I removed the two on the outside.

I haven't ever seen one in person, but yes, I think it would be doable.

I'd be very obliged by a pic of this conversion.
