Hello, I recently started collecting a WOC army and will be painting it so I thought to start a thread about my progress, I will be starting with a unit of Chaos Warriors and update with pictures of step by step progress.

Im using Reaper paints and Im trying to achieve and overall dark look, I will be painting all of my units undivided and only dedicate banners that way I can change marks by only changing the standard bearer.

Ok lets begin with the armor, I will be painting in groups of 4 models I started with a coat of black primer.



Then I aplied a basecoat of Tarnisehd Steel.



After that I did two heavy washes of black to add some heavy shadows and tone down the basecoat.



I did a highlight with the basecoat color and another with honed steel, the image doesnt seem to show them well.



I thought the highlights were too bright so I did a last heavy was of black to tone it down a little a make the color transition more smooth, and thats it for the armor.



I did some highlights for the boots but again the picture dosent show them well.



Next I will be doing the heads and shields, I have to order the halberds yet so the weapons will have to wait, I dont know of what color paint the cape any ideas?

the highlight is indeed grey, I might take a close up later today but rigth now I gotta go out, its our aniversary have to take the wife out hehehe

Thanks, Im going undivided, after I paint some units I will paint several standards dedicated to each god, that way my army has a dark look but you can identify if a unit is dedicated.

Here is an update, I finally decided what colors to paint the cloaks, that was slowing me down Im not a slow painter but if Im not sure on the colors to use the indecision will stop me from painting

I used stormy grey as a basecoat and aplied two drybrushes one of rany grey and a light one of misty grey, after that I aplied two washes of black ( the flash makes it look glossy but that will be fixed with the matte barnish when Im done)

the fur was left black and dry brushed with harvest brown and a light dry brush of leather brown followed by a bron wash, the skulls were painted tained ivory, washed bronw and highlighted with golden highlight.
