Secret Force Behind the Rise of the Tau

I originally started working this out only to see what it would look like on paper, but now I'm thinking I might actually pick up a Kantor model and start Sternguard spamming.

HQ

-Librarian (Melta-Bombs, GoI, Null Zone)
-Pedro Kantor

Elite

-Sternguard (8 Guard, Drop Pod, Power Fist, 2 Combi-Meltas) ~ Librarian
-Sternguard (8 Guard, Rhino, Lightning Claw, 2 Combi-Meltas) ~ Travels with Kantor
-Sternguard (7 Guard, Rhino, Power Fist, 2 Combi-Meltas)

Troops

-Tactical Squad (Rhino, Multi-Melta, Flamer)
-Tactical Squad (Rhino, Multi-Melta, Flamer)

Fast Attack

-Landspeeder Squadron (3 MM/HF Speeders)
-Attack Bike Squad (3 MM)

Heavy Support

-2 Dakka Predators, or a Predator decked out with lascanons. I have models for both and the points value is about equal, so I figure, armor heavy list gets the lascanons, horde gets the dakka.

The Null Zone will help me alot because I have yet to go to my FLGS and not find someone running a terminator heavy army, and there are more than a handful of Dark Angels armies around too. Melta heavy because folks love their land raiders here two. I've never run a squadron of vehicles before, but I'm up for experimentation unless its a horrible idea XD.

Not sure on melta bombs on the librarian as cannot assault after using gate, which you would use to possibly get behind a vehicle. The librarian isnt exactly a vehicle buster, perhaps take might of the anicents if you want to bust armour?

I think sternguards strength belongs in shooting, not c.c, though they can hold their own. Personaly I'd take a unit of terminators with Pedro so you get +1 attacks with those power weapons. Though all elite sternguard is interesting.

Landspeeders shouldn't be in squadrons, this makes vehicles weaker. You should spread them out so you get more targets and can attack more targets. Speeders aren't the strongest and even a S4 weapon can take one down in squadrons.

You have plenty of multi meltas and anti infantry from the sternguard so I'm not sure which pred variant will be best. I'll leave that one with you, unless you like vindicators?
