I got some tiny magnets superglued into tyranid warrior arm sockets. I want to remove them and replace them with 1/8" magnets... but how am I gonna get them out?

Tool idea 1: cork borer

Tool idea 2: leather punch

Tool idea 3: diamond core drill bit

Take a small amount of acitone and put it in the hole.. and it should disolve the glue... and get that into water fast..

I think I will try the leather punch method. They are hard to pry out with acetone and a pick.

Why not just glue new magnet to old.

Acetone and an even stronger magnet.

I'd suggest not drilling into the magnet iirc, the inside is very brittle, while being a strong as frak magnet. My guess is that the tool would pulverize this, and ground magnet, not so good.

I have to agree that a bit of acetone to loosen the glue and then dunking the model after would be a much safer idea.

Its simple: overspecialize and you breed in weakness. It's slow death.

I personally used a 1/32 bit to drill a small hole next to the magnet. Used the pointy file to pry out the old magnet. Then put in the one you want and fill in what is left of the extra hole with gs.

Dipping the model in simple green will loosen the glue bond holding the magnet in (I left a magnitized carnifex in a tub of simple green and the magnet simply fell out)...it will also loosen the glue bond holding your model together.
