Hi lads, new to 40K, so apologies if this has been covered.

When an Ork Trukk is destroyed/explodes, it rolls on the ramshackle table to find out what happens. Kaboom mentions that the trukk explodes and that all models within d6 take a S3 wound (including the passengers. Since the Trukk is also open-topped, does the strength drop to 2 for the passengers or does the ramshackle rule override the opentopped modifier.

In my opinion, the strength would not drop for the passengers as they are right in the centre of the explosion. I think they get a S3 hit like everyone else.

I thought about this myself but came to the conclusion that the codex over rides the rulebook in most cases

No, it remains S3.

It remains S3 as otherwise they have not suffered a S3 hit, which would break the codex rule stating they do.

It's S3 - they can hardly suffer LESS damage from an explosion originating in the vehicle they are sitting in, can they?

Technically Ramshackle is never triggered because the results on the damage table which trigger Ramshackle no longer exist.

If you RAI it, then yes S3.
