I'm thinking of kitbashing some Warbuggies using 1/35 scale muscle car models, but in discussion at my FLGS, it was pointed out to me that the models will be too big. Can anyone provide me with the length and width of a Warbuggy so I can compare it to the size of the models I've got?

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

Since I've already got the verniers out ... it's 75mm long and 55mm wide. Not a very big model actually.

I think you mean 1:25 scale muscle car models, and yes, they would be a bit too big. I think you would be hard-pressed to find 1:35 muscle car models except from possibly an oddball producer. 1:35 scale is usually military models and they are more suited to 40K conversions.

With that said, if you do have a 1:35 scale muscle car, it should be about right, actually. Size wise, not scale, for 40K play.
